I have a disk error how do i fix it?

Could be the HDD or even just the boot sector itself. Basically, it's not able to read the Operating System Boot...or it got damaged somehow. If you have a disc for the exact version that is on the system, you may be able to fix it through the Advanced Options using the command prompt. (bootrec.exe /fixboot /fixmbr /scanos /rebuildbcd)

If I try to start my acer aspire 532 H netbook only : a disk read error occurred" and Press ctrl+alt+del to restart ist show, but nothing happens, when i did it. what can i do?

- a "disk read error occur pertains to your hard drive
- try going to BIOS and check if the HDD is detected on system information
- if the HDD is detected, reset BIOS to default
- if it's not detected then you have a faulty HDD

Acer Aspire 5100: SMART Failure on Hard Disk 4

Hello there,

As per experience, SMART Utility will check your HDD for any errors that may occur.

I backed up everything and replaced a new HDD and got rid of the error.

Opened up the problematic HDD and noticed a very light scratch on its "platters".

As for me. Never ignore this warning before something might happen to your HDD and lost important data.

Acer Aspire 3610 wont start up, black screen comes up stating disk error. I am unable to have it start in safemode by pressing F8, nothing happen. THe only thing that does happen is a black screen appears...

The other way to fix it, you need to disassemble your laptop if you've familiar the unit. Usually the HDD has not been attach check the HDD cable (SATA or IDE) replace it. On other hand if the same things happen and you don't have windows CD, it's time to buy an windows CD installer. Reformat your unit to fix the problem.

Good luck!
