Help! My laptop is dead and is less than a year old. I called Toshiba and they suggested first I buy another adapter. I did and it's not working. Then, they suggested I buy another battery, I dd and it's still not working. Then they said it may be the port on the laptop. Help! School starts in a week and I can't afford to purchase another one.

If your laptop still in warranty, you can ask toshiba to repair or otherwise take it to service centre.

My old T200 toshiba laptop not working

Hi Kaiden,

It is an old dinasor of a Laptop, and It sounds like it's dying or dead.

Time for you to update and get a newbie or refurbished Laptop from your nearest PC shop or ebay.

Never use generic power adapters with PCs & Laptops, that will kill them as well.

Always use the recommended power supply, no ifs or buts.

I've had my acer 5538 laptop for less than about a year now.. but now the charger isn't charging anywhere that i plug it in. what can i do?

Whenyou connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? Ifnot then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's powersocket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DCplug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltageshould be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on thebottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that isprinted on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK thenconnect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/batterycharging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's powersocket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position thisLED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a drysolder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Battery won;t charge - light stays a solid orange and computer won'tturn on without adapter - less than a year old

it is very obvious that the battery cell of your laptop is totally dead. That's why it would not charge and power your laptop.

Therefore the fault is from your laptop battery.

The solution is that you try to buy another battery and your laptop would be perfect once again.

I am facing the same problem presently. I have tested it with another battery and found out that, my battery is dead. I have not bought another battery yet, because I don't have the cash right now, so I am using my laptop with my adapter till I get another battery.

We both suffer the same problem, so go get another battery.

Toshiba Laptop builtin wireless modem can't find any network

If the laptop is 3 years old then it probably requires a chipset update. Goto intel's website and use the driver update utility. If this does not work then your wireless connection may be broken. You can buy a wifi USB card for less than £10 if you shop around. Good luck

Battery not charging...

My impression is that you might have a defective cord if you still have your old adapter and has the same power specification try this first.

If the battery is hot and does not charge you might have a defective battery . Better have it checked at the service center before buying a brand new battery

Gateway M-6750 Laptop power issue

First try this: Unplug the laptop from the AC adapter (very important). Then take out the laptop battery and place it back into the laptop after a few seconds. Try powering on the computer. If that does not work, then continue reading.

If there is a LED light on the gateway power adapter check that it turns green when the adapter is plugged in. If it does not turn green (assuming there's a light there at all) then your power adapter is bad. There are a couple of different places to go from there. If the computer is less than a year old take it to geek squad at any best buy to have them send it into service under manufacturer's warranty. If it is not less than a year old try buying a universal adapter from Best Buy to see if that works (which you can return without penalty if you wish). If that does not work then your motherboard is bad. The cost of repair would probably come close to the cost of a new laptop.

Toshiba A-135 Notebook only works with a charged battery but will not work with the AC Adapter. Is the system port bad?

It could be that the DC jack (what you plug the AC adapter in to) has become loose from the motherboard, or it could be the adapter itself. Plug the adapter into the computer, and -gently- move the cord, just a bit. Does the end in the computer move around a little? If so, you'll want to get it looked at.

If the problem is with the adapter itself, you'll need a replacement. I suggest calling up Toshiba and see about getting a replacement adapter. If the computer is less than a year old and falls under Manufacturer's warranty, any parts that you may need should be covered.

NEED driver

No driver needed, its a laptop HD right?
Get an Ebay IDEto laptop IDE adapter for under $10.. hook it to your Desktop pc as a second drive, and whack at it with a few disk format utilities you found on google..
It either will work, or its dead.. If it works, put the OS install files on it, put it back in your laptop and install...
Handy things those IDE-laptopide adapters...
