What button to press to copy a document ?

If you are putting a document into the printer and want to make a copy of it, press the key that says "copy" on the printers keyboard. Then choose the number of copies you want to make and press the "ok" or "enter" key on the keyboard of the printer.

If the document you wish to make a copy of is located in your computer and you dont have a copy of it to place in your printer - then you need to print the document. Not copy the document. Copy means make another one. You can't copy something that you dont have in your hands. Understand? To print a document that you dont have in your hands, find it on your computer. When you find the document you want to print on the computer, click on "file" in the upper left side corner of your computer screen and slide down to "print" and click on it. Then click on "ok" on the next screen to start printing your document.

If there is no "file" command in the upper left corner of your computer screen when you have the document that you want to print open on the computer - try right clicking with the button on the right side of your mouse in the center of the document and find the "print" command on the drop down list and click on it. Then click on "ok" on the next screen and this will start the printing of your document.

Hope this helps? Good luck!

Hello

Check the cabels from computer and printer , seems that it cant find your printer . Or the drivers is not working as they should. If your printer is trying to print and the paper is going thru the printer as it should , and if there is no text then its the cartridges. Or its wrong paper in the printer.. The worst thing is if you can not get your printer working at home or with a friends computer you need to buy a new one.

Best regards

When I print a document, the printer prints multiple copies of each page even when the print window says "Copies: 1". Please help. Also, I have the "mirror image" problem too, but I have to click it off...

1. Have you rebooted the Printer and PC?
2. Have you loaded the correct drivers and software?
(Seen many instances of the wrong CD shipping with HP printers.)
3. When you say, "the print window says "Copies 1". Is this:
a. the Printer digital window?
or
b. the Print window dialog box on the monitor?

IF a. "the printer digital window" ignore it and check the print window dialog box on the monitor. Many applications remember what you input last and will repeat the last entry. Say you printed your Resume 10 times. Now your printing the grocery list and it prints 10 times.

If b. "the Print window dialog box on the monitor" Make sure the copies are indeed 1 only. Then check to make sure none of the numeric buttons on the printer has been pushed.

Is this a Network printer?
Make sure you have cleared the printer cache!
Shut down the computer then the printer.
UNPLUG both for at least 10 sec.
Restart PC and allow it to boot up completely BEFORE turning on the printer.

Mirror image sounds like a default setting has been changed.
Go into you HP software and go to configuration.
There should be a button there that says: "Use Default settings"

If this does not return things to normal. It is could be driver issue.
Meaning if you have the wrong one installed. The printer/scanner could do most anything as it is receiving the wrong code instructions for that model.

Good luck!

After a paperjam my printer will not print fom the computer and i no longer have the software to reinstall. I have checked the connections and the printer work to make copies or fax but will not print from...

Check in the control panel and go to printers. Then make sure your printer is still set as default printer. If it still is try restarting your computer. At times even though these are elementary things these are usually all it takes to repair minor printing problems.

No power on my Lexmark X8350

That's the same printer I have.

First, make sure the blue "copy" button is lit. Printing is done there.

Then, go to the circle with the checkmark in it and hit the menu, and arrow down to copy papy size and make sure it says "letter".

Click start on your computer, then click control panel, then printers, and make sure Lexmark 8300 series is the default printer and has a green checkmark in a circle.

If all these things are right, you should be able to print a test page and the computer should work fine.

If any one of them are wrong they must be corrected. If you need help on any one of those please write back.

Switching from copy to print from computer

If you look carefully at the printer you'll note that there is no button for "Print" and the reason for this is that all the other functions are for using the printer as if it wasn't connected, nor needed a computer.

All your printing functions that DO use a computer require you to interact with the printer via the computer.

In short, to use the printer from the computer you'll need to make sure you've installed the correct drivers (see your installation CD or the Canon website) and then plug the printer in using a USB cable connection to your computer. If the computer recognises the printer you'll then be able to print.

In a nutshell if your printer is connected and drivers installed properly it doesn't matter what your printer has selected on the printers own control panel, you just print :)

Hope that helps.

Printing blank

Hello,
The first thing you need to do is disconnect the printer from your computer, and try to print a demo sheet directly from the printer's control panel, then try to make a copy if the copy comes out right, that means you have a problem with your software or computer, so you should call them again and tell them the problem is still there, but only when you print from your computer.
