Question about Acer Aspire AS5920-6914 Widescreen Laptop

What should I do?

My acer aspire 5920-6864 laptop will not come on anymore, i just purchased this laptop in jan of this year please tell me what to do

    Yes, I should be still under warranty, I just purchased this laptop in Jan of this year. It's brand new i got it from walmart the ac adapter cord came with it. It was working like three days ago, and all of sudden it will not power on, with or without the cord

    I have a few preliminary questions for you.

    Are you still under warranty? Or, did you buy this used?
    Does this happen on battery only as well as A/C power attached?
    Did you receive the A/C power brick with the notebook or did you buy this separately?

    Thanks in advance for clearing this up now before we can attempt to fix your problem.

Did you experience a Power Surge or have a nearby lightening storm?

I have my laptop's power brick connected to an inexpensive battery backup so I can still keep working online during brown outs and power surges.

A long hot Summer like we have will lead to brown outs. During one, your power supply attempts to make up the voltage difference.

Thre are no fuses or reset buttons you can access and replace.

You will have to contact Acer to get warranty service. Begin by asking for an RMA (returned merchandise authorization) number so you can pack, double box this, and send it in via UPS or FedEx (this is most companies requirement). They also give you a unique shipping address and the loading dock looks for the RMA and should one be missing on the box, they refuse the shipment and it comes back to you.

Go to this page here, enter the serial number of your laptop found on the bottom of the laptop to register your laptop unless you have already.

Then, go to this page to contact technical support and request an RMA to return the unit for warrant service repair. You'll have plenty of room to explain the issue.

Sorry I can't give you a solution, but this is the best we can do and luckily you are under warranty.

Manufacturer warranty is typically 1 year limited parts. This means if a hardware, NOT software goes bad within 1 year of purchase date you can contact acer to get a RMA number and ship them the laptop for a part replacement. This does not cover accidental damage, ie you drop the laptop, split something on it or drop something on it.
Places like best buy will sell two types of extended warranties, and are typically 3 years. The cheaper will cover the same thing as the manufacturer but for 3 years. They also sell a more expensive warranty which will cover accidental damage as well. None of these warranties will cover acts of god, theft or software problems
These extended warranties will be the same thing if purchased from acer or any other computer retailer. Also sometimes they are longer periods of time like 5 years.

Warranty for acer aspire 5920

You need to call Acer regarding this legal things and issues.

However, this is what's actually happening.

When your dealer bought Acer laptops (or any other laptop) Acer gave them (your dealer) 3 years warranty coverage. But your dealer will sell them and cover 1 year of warranty since the laptops they bought are just stored in their locations which are already consuming the warranty period that Acer gave them.

Dear, Remove the battery and plug-in the power cable to the laptop and then start it. If it do start, then there is a problem with battery.
I m sure your laptop is under warranty. Please go to service center.

Need new operating system

I would recommend to contact the store from which you have purchased and see if they can supply you with the installation disc, if you do not have it.

In previous years it was more common to purchase a laptop with all the required discs, but now it's not like that anymore

Acer Aspire 5570 black screen.

This problem occurs in most Acer laptops. Its actually a bug in the mother board. Try reinstalling the clock battery or give it to your nearest service center.
