Is there a fargo certified service center in the Seattle or surrounding areas?

I have a DTC525 printer that needs service. It keeps breaking ribbons, every time it tries to print, and unless I tuirn the heat settings way up, there are washed out areas on the cards or test cards. Also I may have a single blown pixel, and need more cleaning tapes. I really would prefer a local shop to avoid sending the printer through a costly shipper, andd also to avoid too much delay in its return.

Anytime she goes to print a badge the ribbon breaks. It's the correct ribon. She's put in a new ribon and the same thing happens.

When the ribbon keeps breaking on fargo DTC300 or any similar models (the ones that share similar mechanics) three steps are to be taken.

1- Verify, clean, calibrate or replace the ribbon sensor (maybe you'll see an error like "Panel Searching" that means " the ribbon sensor can't read the ribbon panels normally).

2- Clean the "card path" (the feed and platen rollers) for dust dirt and debris using the manufacturer's cleaning kit (or a clean
lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol) and the "clean printer" option.

3- Clean the inside and outside of the printer (pay attention to the printhead) with dust-off, lint-free cloth, isipropyl alcohol and enjoy.

Or, for more advanced ts take it to a certified tech!

Fargo HDP5000 HDP5k H5k Ribbon Breaks Error 97

You need to update the printers firmware. 9 times out of 10, this is the issues I see.

Go to HIDglobal.com. Under the support tab, select Drivers & Downloads. From here, populate the drop down menus with Make and Model. Compare the available firmware with the firmware version current installed on the printer.

Hit [Options] then [Next] on the printer to figure out the version.

On this same web page, make sure to download the Fargo Workbench Utility. It gives you the ability to update.

Printer keeps breaking the ribbon

first, try to calibrate the ribbon, if it does not work, you probably have worn out rollers, and possibly a broken o-ring. if you want more info, call us at 310-671-8018, thanks adi

Breaking Ribbon

Ribbon breaking continuously is caused by 2 common problems. 1. The printhead is going down before OR after the card has passed through. You would know this when you open your cover, and unlock you printhead, is the break before or after the card? Try printing the test page from the driver. That doesn't print "Edge to Edge" so if this is the problem, it should not break. 2. The print head heat settings are too high. If this is so, you can change this on the printers menu panel. I can explain more information, once I know your problem.
