What kind of cable is needed to connect a Fargo DTC 520 to a computer?

'DTC' or 'DTS'? Sounds like it has failed and needs dealer service.

Make sure to download the printer's driver before connecting it to the computer. It can be found here Drivers Downloads. On this same page, under the misc section, be sure to download the Fargo Workbench application. It is essential to updating firmware and diagnosing future issues.

After driver has been downloaded and UnZip'd to a folder (I usually put it on the desktop for easy locating), Connect the print to your computer. the computer should prompt you with "new device" or something of that nature.

Go to Start (bottom left of your desktop) then to "Printers and Faxes" or "Printers and Devices" (depending on your version of windows). Check to see if Fargo DTC 550 is listed in your printer section.

Make sure to set the DTC 550 as your Default Printer, on this screen or through the ID badging program you are using.

Be aware, value will fluctuate depending on overall cosmetic condition and functionality. For a single unit sale your best bet is probably to use an online sale/auction site. You could try Craigslist first as that allows you to sell without having to pay any listing fees, etc. If that does not work for you ebay can be a reliable alternative (as when using any online selling sites use common sense when dealing with individuals, with craiglist be careful about where you meet someone, deal in cash or direct deposits to an account like PayPal, etc). You might even put a small ad in your local free paper/newspaper as this kind of device could be of interest to small business owners.

if you have the drivers installed correctly , then your only other option is the communication board is bad on the printer.

Actually, Fargo drivers will not work on any 64 bit system - 32 bit only.

They dont make vista drivers for the 520.
