Hi,
Have you put a new battery in the car? If so and it still won't start, try retracing the wires under the hood to be sure the rats haven't chewed through any of them!

Hi:
Unfortunately, there have been lots of cases of rodents chewing on car wiring. In the last five years or so, wire manufacturers have used soy beans as an ingredient in the insulation coating on automobile wiring, and it seems it is tasty to our small friends. Depending on where you park your car , will make you succeptible to it happening again. The Mom of a friend of mine had $1000 worth of damage to her car wiring, as some chipmunks had a field day with her newer car. She ended up placing some moth balls around where her car was parked, to keep the critters away. If you have wildlife near your car, look out!
I have seen the damage that one squirrel has done on a Dodge van. Unfortunately all of the injector wires needed to be respliced. It happens more often than you think. I also knew of a rat that chewed through a serpentine belt on a 5.0 liter Mustang. The owner started the car and chewed the heck out of that rat. True story. What a mess he made.
i think you might have a mouse living in your engine compartment
but i would look at a mouse dead inside your muffler since this is the warmest place the cuts off the cars way of breathing
when you come to a stop the dead mouse moves inside muffler and creates a blockage just enough to almost smother vehicle rats find muffler pipes warm area to live in
i would also change the oxygen sensor out too
since you mentioned rats i would gothrew whole vehicle in detail and look for chewed frayed wires windshield wiper motors things of this nature they may have chewed threw a relay and you wouldnt know once you have rats they can do lots of damage to a vehicle
also if vehicle sat for long time i would check the tank for debry and change the sending units filter out for better performance along with vehicles fuel filters
fuel injector relay can also be bad giving you the chug
bad coil
build of gunk in the throttle body houseing
air filter clog or not enough air
these are things i can think off the top of my head since im not there in person to see vehicle
i hope this had helped you in some remedy
