Hello, to turn off the screen saver just follow these steps.

  • Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button how to trun of screen - 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Screen Saver.

  • To turn off all screen savers, under Screen Saver, click (None) in the drop-down list, and then click OK.
    - or -
    To turn on a screen saver, click a screen saver in the drop-down list, and then click OK.

    Hi Deanninja,

    I'd like to assist in turning your Screen saver off on your Laptop.

    Follow these steps,

    1. Right click anywhere on your desktop/wallpaper it will show you a pop up box click on personalize

    2. On the windows that just showed up you will see a list at the bottom the last one on the right is your screen saver, click on it it should give you another window for the screen saver settings... then on the screen saver list that you can select on-top will be listed as none just left click on that click on Apply and then OK this should disable your screen saver on your Laptop.

    1.

    Open Display in Control Panel.

    On the Screen Saver tab, under Screen saver, click a screen saver in the list.

    How to change wall paper to your screen

    Open Control Panel - Display -
    To select a wallpaper, click on Desktop tab then select a background image.

    It appears that my screen saver has not been enabled. If I am away from my desk for an extended period the screen saver is not activated.

    How can i save a picture as my screen saver

    Assuming you are using windows XP on this:
    Create a new folder in "my pictures " folder
    Copy the images you want to use into there
    On your desktop, RIGHT click and choose "properties" to open the display settings
    Click "Screen saver" and choose my pictures slideshow
    Click "settings" to open the options for this
    Click browse to point to where you saved the images
    Set the duration and timings to suit your tastes
    Exit by clicking Ok and the OK to exit the display settings

    Laptop stops at the screen saver and does not allow me to click on any icons. Laptop is a compaq ev0 n620c

    the laptop is short on memories or short on hard drive space.
    trun off the laptop.
    unplug the AC and remove the battery.
    press and hold the power button for 30 sec.
    reinstall the battery and plug in the AC.
    turn on the laptop.
    go to start>>programs>>accessories>>system tools>>disk cleaner.
    delete all of the junk and unwanted files.
    go to control panel>>display>>screen saver
    select a different screen save or use WIndows screen saver.

    Acer aspire 5720

    thats because Acer put their own screen saver on when building them, it's not part of windows.

    I'm sure a google search will come up with an Acer screen saver
