32" vizio m370nv, not under warranty any longer, working just fine until a few days ago, now will not turn on and stay on... the logo comes up and then it turns off. pulled off the back panel and didn't see any bad caps, any suggestions?

Hi I was in a live session with you earlier but there was no response for about 15 minutes so I thought your were disconnected. Please click on the re-connect button or you can respond here. When you say it does not turn on, does the LED change color but there is no picture or is it just stuck in standby mode? Please provide this info so that we can continue with the diagnosis.

The audio and picture on my vizio vt470m are scrambling and then the whole tv locks up and turns itself off. tried fixing with the "unplug everything, hold power button for 30 sec, and turn back on...

You could have Bad Capacitors on the Power supply board they will be vented or swollow on Top
1000uf 16v 2200uf 10v 3300uf 10v.
PTS they rebuilt boards 1-800-844-7871

My new vizio m370nv does not permit adjustment of the backlight % as the manual suggests should be available to me, even under "custom". It also allows for ajustment of contrast, brightness,...

Often manufactures will tie backlight adjustment in with the brightness, You might want to changed the brightness to your desired luminosity and then correct the picture with contrast to your liking.

32'' Vizio won't work

It is under warranty, I would take it back and ask for exchange, bad sign that it goes out in less tahn 30 days.

New Vizio tv shuts off after June switchover

Well, your TV is no doubt under warranty. The only reason I can thing of why they want you to use a DVD player is to find out if the Digital Tuner inside the TV is the source of the problem.
They need to replace the Digital tuner board or the main mother board. Either way, they have to come out to your house to replace a part.
Just keep hammering them of the warranty coverage.
