Half screen is blank 42lg20 or 42lg50 when

This is likely to be the T-con board. If the entire screen glows but you have no picture on the second half of the screen then it is the main board, not the backlight inverter. If the screen is half picture and half gray it is the T-con board.

Replacement of one of the above will fix the issue.

Television half picture what causes this?

Sorry to let you know that your picture tube might be going out. Is your picture cut in half, or is your picture just using half of the screen. If is using just half the screen you might be able to adjust this with your horizontal control. If your picture is cut in half you might be able to adjust this on the inside back of the TV. Only problem with this the TV has to fully discharge from static as this static if you touch the inside picture tube can kill you. There are additional controls on the picture tube housing but should be done by an expert. Only problem with this, if this does not work you paid a service charge you could put towards another TV. Check out craigslist. Some great deals there. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Picture on screen is cut off

reset the settings to factory default. if that does not clear it up, there is a sync issue. try a different cable. otherwise, there is a problem with the main board.

Hi, You cannot exactly reset the whole TV, but you can press the PMode button on your remote control a few times to cycle through all the picture modes (Dynamic, Standard, etc.) in order to factory reset each picture mode.
