The cord was pulled out of the Roper refrigerator but now that I have a replacement cord I have no idea where to connect the black wire and the white wire a the ground wire. I see an inlet with six spaces where where five wires could be connected to.

I moved the compact refrigerator and sat it on the electrical power cord and it severed it. Fix it or replace it.

I may be able to assist...If you haven't done so already..UNPLUG The cord. Now, depending on where the wire was severed, will impact the degree of difficulty in reinstalling it.
I suggest that you position the fridge so that you can access the place where the cord actually goes into the fridge.
I assume that the cord passes thru a cable feedthru of some kind in the back so you may want to follow that into the fridge.
If the cord was severed outside the fridge you could simply join the 3 wires together as an inline connection ( making sure to keep the supply line, neutral and ground wires bonded to their corresponding ones ... meaning ground wire to ground wire, neutral to neutral and supply line to supply line... line may sometimes be referred to as the 'hot' feed.
If the cord was svered off internal to the fridge, try these steps..
You will probably need to remove an access panel on the back to see where the power cable is routed within the fridge. Once located, you will need to find where that cord was severed when it was pulled out. There should be 3 wires coming into the fridge from the power cord. I assume it came with a standard three prong plug that is compatible with a wall socket. You will have to identify which wire is which on the cord. It helps if you have a continuity meter or ohm meter for this. First, identify which of the 3 wires is bonded to the round terminal of the plug ( that would be your ground wire) That wire should be secured to the fridge frame with a bare screw of some sort. You may be able to trace the cord inside the fridge back to that point or you may be able to reattach the severed wire together using wire nuts to keep the wires joined together and electrically insulated from surrounding surfaces. Remember that it is critical to maintain the same point to point wire configuration as it came with. As a general rule of thumb, a bare copper wire or green insulated wire is typically the ground wire. Depending on the cord type, black insulated wire is normally the supply or HOT feed, and white is typically the neutral line. You may have different color insulation on your wires ( especially if it is a molded cable assembly ) so make sure you verify which wire comes from which terminal on the plug. ( round terminal on plug is ground, the longer of the two ( if it is a polarized plug would be your neutral and the shorter terminal would be the supply line. If unsure, get professional assistance. Hope this helps...

How do I remove the door with water dispenser from my Roper Side by Side Refrigerator

Turn water supply to refrigerator off and get a pan or towels to collect what water that will spill when disconnected. On each end of the quick connect coupling is a ring hold the coupling tight with one hand while pressing the ring towards the center of the coupling and then pull the water line out. When replacing the water line trim the part of the water line off where the ring was before or the line may leak once you reattach the water line. Press ring towards the coupling to remove and simply push the existing line after trimming into coupling and pull tight. The grip inside the coupling will lock the line in place. My roper refr is not runing, it trows the breaker, if you turn the breaker on it makes no noise just trows it out in 2 sec.

It is likely that the compressor windings are shorted and when plugged in, throws the breaker. Check to be sure the cord is in good shape, too. Remove the connections from the compressor (mark them so you can replace) and tape them off. Plug it in and see if it still trips the breaker. If it does not, the compressor is shorted.

No power to refrigator check plq and it is hot Light in sisde dont even work

It could be a loose connection where the power cord is connected to the refrigerator inside or a bad power cord. If that doesn't solve the problem you may consider calling a repair person.
Good Luck,

Wiring for three prong power supply cord

If you desire to convert an appliance from a 4-prong to a 3-prong, make sure you reconnect the bonding strap and/or ground wire to the Neutral (white) wire at the terminal block.

Picture shown is for a range cord but is exactly the same for a dryer connection.

Roper coils need cleaning

I do not have info specifically on a Roper fridge, but:

Pull the unit out so you can get to the rear, bottom section. Unplug the unit. There should be a panel at the bottom that can be removed by removing several screws and lifting the panel away.

You should be able to see the (black) compressor and "behind" that are the coils.

Refridgerator is not blowing out cold air.

Inside the fresh food compartment behind the control panel there is a defrost timer. There also should be a small opening to turn the timer clockwise slowly until you hear refrigerator compressor stop running. The timer if working properly should return the refrigerator to operating after about 20 minutes. If not I believe the timer may be defective and need be replaced. Try this first and let me know, Thanks, Sea breeze

Roper fridge problem

Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.
  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.
  • if you already checked this and think it is a different problem then let me know, i will help you figure it out.
