Question about Photography

Polaroid 25-50 power zoom lens 7500Zix

I bought it at a rummage sale out of box - No instructions. It won't open on bottom where it says to open. Has battery-DLCR2 3 volt. Same switch on backside above window has arrow that points to C, H, or P. Small window is space to program: date, sel,set on the side and bottom of window looks like a timer symbol, another symbol in the middle and then mode. Maybe the area won't open because the film hasn't been used that might be inside. Also on back are two oval buttons with W on one and T on the other. The flash light comes on red, so I think the battery is good, but when I press bottom on top nothing happens. Can you help?

Thank you for replying.

I downloaded a manual from the Adobe Reader, and it answered my questions.

THAT MAY BE COINCIDENCE. I HAD MINE QUITTING WHILE I WAS GETTING INTO POSITION TO SHOOT A PICTURE. I DIDN'T BOTHER WITH REPAIR AND BOUGHT AN OLYMPUS VR-320. MUCH SIMPLER AND QUICKER TO SHOOT.

Bought MB Scavenger Hunt (a madcap seek and search game) at a rummage sale for our grandchildren, but it didn't come with an instruction booklet.

I would contact MB 1-800 number on the box of the game and ask them to please send a copy of an instruction booklet. Most companies are fine doing that. Let them know the situation, and if that fails try going to the website and looking for directions.

Just a thought - are your Image Stabilizer and Auto Focus switches On or Off?
Might be worth experimenting with them.
Otherwise, sorry, can't help.
May be necessary to contact your vendor.

Believe it or not, the rails will not lock unless the bottom is slightly raised up. Then you can flatten the bottom. Unlocking works the same way, be sure that the bottom is lifted up partially. Hope that helps, I had the same problem.

Lens stuck open

In a nutshell, this error happens when the lens gets stuck while trying to extend and comes slightly out of alignment. Particularly if it's been dropped while open. The lens gets stuck in the extended position, and refuses to move either to focus the lens or to retract when powered off.

If your camera is still under warranty, the best thing you can do have Polaroid should fix it. If your camera is out of warranty, or if Polaroid refuses to repair it for free, the one thing you can try is to If you gently, and I do mean GENTLY push against the lens with the PALM of your hand as you turn it on, it may cause it to depress back into the camera. If that doesn't work, and you can't reset it or turn it on/off several times, then you may have to send it in for a repair estimate anyway.
