Is my microwave mica plate good?

The black marks are burnt debris caused by splashing inside the oven. (Cling film usually stops this).
The waveguide cover, refered to as mica, has nothing to do with the actions of the magnetron, it is there to stop particles of food from entering the waveguide.

"Iron with aluminum soleplate quickly smoothes out wrinkles"

product overview...
- Combining a simple, classic design with an array of modern conveniences, this powerful iron quickly and easily smoothes out wrinkles. The unit's fabric-select dial and convenient fabric guide make it easy to choose the right amount of heat needed for the job, while its aluminum soleplate creates crisp creases and comes with a pointed tip that works well for getting into pleats, between buttons, and along seams. Other highlights include an "on" indicator light, a thumb-activated steam-surge button, an anti-drip system that prevents water spotting at low temperatures, a pivoting cord, and a stable heel rest. For enhanced safety and peace of mind, the iron will shut off automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity if left on its soleplate or tipped over on its side; if left vertically on its heel rest, it will shut off after 8 minutes.

Clean the orifices on the bottom of the plate with something small enough like a toothpick to clear out the holes on the sole plate.

Hello, I have a Rowenta Prelude kettle - the tiny plastic pieces on the lid have broken so the lid cannot flip backwards and forwards. Where can I get a new lid please

Hi Lesley,

It's difficult to be more specific in assisting you as you don't specify which country, town or state you live in.
You should be able to find a local dealer by going to http://www.rowenta.com/rowenta/frame.aspx

& specifying your country in the drop-down list, then specifying your residential area.

Best wishes,

I HAVE A ROWENTA STEAM GENERATOR IRON AND IT IS ALWAYS SPITTING OUT WATER WHICH STAINS MY FABRIC. i AM A QUILTER AND USE THE IRON ALOT.

Drain the water if don't need steam function, that's the best thing you need to do. Some iron when there is water like the one you use, when if its full on water really split out water, keep water in minimum or drain all of it.
I hope my advise help you.

Rowenta Iron - faulty cable at connection to the cover plate of the iron - unable to open the plate as the 2 retaining screws do not accept standard electrical tools - screws are star shaped recess [T25]...

Use a small screw driver and break out the tamper proof pins - I have done that in the past. You can also now buy Torx bits that are drilled for tamper proof screws.

I accidentally covered a plate with foil in the microwave. there was Arcing (no fire) and now there is black marks etched where the foil touched the sides. The cavity seems unharmed though, it seems if I...

Sometimes the arcing itself will cause black marks inside the oven. The places where the foil was melted, (touching), likely left small metal deposits, possibly now, impregnated in the surface. It is important to remove these if possible to avoid further arcing. Remove these then test to make sure the oven is functioning properly. If so, continue to use.
