Okay 1 of 2 things is wrong i think
A) the lens or that area is broken some where
B) the screen is broken
what you need to do is send it to canon so they can tell you what the problem is
if the screens broken buy one off the internet open the camera using a eyeglass screw driver or you will strip the screws look how the screen is connector flip the switch and take out and replace you screen
the video that i have linked isn't your camera but the assembly and disassembly should be the same and so the screen changing
i cant help you if its problem A) my only advice buy a new camera if cost effective or get it repaired
