Need driver for jvc minidv digital camcorder, so my xp computer will recognize the camcorder. I no longer have the driver discs. I can purchase from jvc customer support for $40. Are there any better solutions?

It seems Cyberlink was the original install software, so I would try finding or buying Cyberlink to see if it will work for your camcorder on a Win7 machine. If the link doesn't work, you might have to cut and paste twice.
Try www.driverguide.com look up JVC miniDV USB. There are many drivers, you just need to try until you get one that works. USB will only transport over still pics, you need firewire for video transfer.
