PUK stands for Pin Unblocking Key,this PUK code is used if wrong PIN (Personal Identification Number)code is entered for several try's.It means if you enter PIN for more than 3x,the simcard will be blocked and ask you to enter the PUK code as what is explain above.

Usually this PUK code is on the package together with your simpack when you bought it. in your phone case,you need to enter the PUK code to unblock the PIN so you can access the simcard data's and features,otherwise,if you lost your PUK code, just contact your service provider and ask for your PUK code.

PUK code is called as PERSONNAL UNBLOCKING KEY.

Your phone will ask for PUK code when you entered the PIN code wrongly several times depending upon the mobile make. The mobile asks for PUK code so that unauthorized persons do not use your mobile for wrong cause.

To get PUK code please contact your service provider through phone or go directly to their office. They will provide you the PUK code for your mobile. The PUK code is unique for each mobile phone model.so that you can open your phone. When you planning to call your service provider you cannot use your mobile as it is fully locked. Please use some other mobile with same network to call your service provider.

This PUK code prevents thieves from being able to make use of stolen handsets, that is why it can only be given by the service provider only.

Inorder tosolve your PUK problem, *kindly contact your service provider (customer care) *Tell your phone number and they will give your PUK code *Enter that code on your cell phone(Wall that ask puk code) *Then your phone ask another pin code&to verify,there you can type your desired code(say 0000,00000,1234,12345). * Then your phone will restart normally.... if its the PUK code you need contact your customer service...they are the only ones that have it. as far a setting up a pin you shouldnt have to but if its asking for one most all phones default phone lock code is 1111 but the phones sercurity default lock code is 0000 once you have the PUK code and have entered it....try the 1111 first then it will have you enter it again if that dont work try the 0000 If the incorrect lock code is entered more than 3 times the phone will display "ENTER PUK". just enter the PUK code again

my phone puk code got locked. i can unlock the puk code but it says enter new pin code. and when i verify it it says code error

You may enter wrong PIN three (3) times only. After that your PIN will be blocked! To unblock, you need PUK. You can only enter wrong PUK ten (10) times. (This is as documented) After entering correct PUK, you will be asked for NEW PIN.

So, when it says "PIN blocked. Enter PUK code", you must enter the PUK. If you correctly enter the PUK, it will asked for new PIN, by asking "Enter new PIN code:". Enter anything you want as your PIN. You will be asked to enter it twice (two times).
From what I read from your post, you have done correctly, but you don't want to enter new PIN. There is no way SIM card/phone will use old PIN. The device doesn't know your PIN. So, you have to enter new PIN.
