I had the same problem that was similar where it would get to 16% of the document and then say that the printer is not responding. I unplugged the USB and plugged it back in and that fixed it, but it did the same thing about a month ago.

Hello. the best way to get going again is to hook up the USB cable between your printer and computer and then run your printer driver disk. If you do not have the printer driver disk, you can download it for free. Just google Epson Stylus CX6600 printer driver
If the printer is a cx6600, like the one you ches on title, then you can download drivers here: Epson Stylus CX6600, Drivers & Downloads If it is a different model, submit a new request with right model.
first check whether ur printer have usb or lpt. and then check ur model may be sometimes ur printer automatically detects by xp otherwise u have to download ur printer from www.driverguide.com
You shouldn't have to reformat your hard drive to get a printer working.
when you insert or remove the mini cards you must stop the device in windows. Windows views the card and the printer as a hard drive. To remove the card click the green arrow icon in the lower righthand corner of the desktop. Go to the Epson site and download the latest drivers for you model and if available download and update the firmware for the printer.
