The screen turns blue durring a movie

Our cm-1000 dr monitor mounted in our car intermittenly turns blue during a movie. Sometimes the movie can be playing for 10 minutes and then the screen turns blue. Other times the movie may be playing for a hour or more before the screen goes blue, the sound is playing fine durring the period that the screen goes blue and the movie does not stop. Usually, we can just turn the monitor off and then back on and the screen comes back on, but lately it has gone blue and we can not get it to come back on.

As far as I can tell the connections are good. We tried a different DVD player with the same results

Any sugestions?

Thanks,

Tod

TV must have a cold solder or bad connection in one of the main boards or in the power board . it will be a real pain for the repairman to fix this. in most cases he needs the tv all the way broke before he can find the problem.

Hello,

It probably the connection towards your video from the player got error. But most like this, that is the symptom of the lcd when using defective cable to the PC. Since you use DVD player and at start it display correctly, then there is a parts in the circuit board of the monitor in which when the voltage pass through could not produce the correct voltage drops and will output blue in the screen of the monitor.

If this not loss cable connection, then you should verify and test the circuit board of the monitor.

if still warranty then; avail the warranty is recommended

This will most likely be with the video jack on the monitor. You might try to take the cover off the monitor and check to see if the jack has a loose or broken wire.

  • Anonymous Aug 06, 2008

This is definitely an internal problem. Since the screen works somewhat, I'm going to say the jack or the wire/cable that leads from the jack to the screen has come loose or is damaged by corrossion. Check the jack and wire/cable inside the unit.

It sounds like it is an internal problem. Could be bad ribbon connection or something else that is loose. How long have you owned the unit for?
Thanks,
Lee

Then your best bet is most likely to replace the unit. If you have a moment I hope you will reconsider and accept and rate my solution accordingly.
    Thanks,
    Lee

Ive got the screen hooked up to my lap top everything looks great but when i play a movie the screen flickers

Screens will flicker during movies if the monitor settings or drivers are incorrect.

Check to make sure that the drivers for that model monitor are installed and up to date.

Go into control panel>display>settings>advanced>Monitor
and try changing the screen refresh rate (Hertz). You can also adjust the resolution from the settings screen as well.

Shutdown during exciting audio

check the wattage of the speakers, they could be drawing too many watts from your amplifier, if you plug in a speaker that's more than the channel, it could harm your amp.
for example a 200 watt stereo, with 4 channels that equals 50 watts per speaker.

Hope this helps you out

The blue light of the monitor keep flash and no picture appears on the screen

I have exactly the same problem with my Medion 17" TFT monitor. It is not the video card (tried changing it) or the motherboard. Fitting a different monitor makes the problem go away. The monitor does not display the "No Signal" message when unplugged from the PC either. It must be a fault in the monitor, and as it seems to be a design fault. I suggest you contact Medion and nag for a replacement.
