I have a problem with my XBV243C DVD Player /VCR Combo. The door for DVD opens but DVD doesn't run properly. The gear turns, but the strap slips. Maybe the strap should be changed. Where can I find a new Strap? Thanks for your help. Jacques Morin, Beloeil Canada J3G 3Z5

VCR players can use a generic rubber strap, getitng it replaced from the repair shop will not cost you that much, since you mentioned that the strap splits, you may also want to inspect the rail that holds the strap it is had dents or cracks, you may need to replcae it too if it is out of shape.

XBV243 DVD Player / VCR Combo: my Zen XBV243 DVD/VCR combo player won't eject the...

If it is the same problem as mine, the drive belt is old and worn and is slipping- therefor the tray will not open. I found this out after I removed the metal cover, and the screws holding the DVD assembly to reveal the motor, pulleys, and drive belt. Now the real problem is to find a replacement belt. Possibly a o-ring the proper size may work, as they are quite easy to find. The original belt has a square cross section, whereas an o-ring has a round cross section, but should work well enough.

Disc won't eject

The problem is either the dvd door motor is bad or the control board is having program issues. You can remove the screws to the cover of the player. Lift cover off and manually open the door and remove the disc. It is also possible that by manually pushing the door open will put the door gears back into alignment. If it doesn't it should be tested and repaired
