After a power outage, my DVW 5000 DVD/VCR player/recorder no longer works. All I see is "snow". Mattozan says that most electronic equipment can not survive a power surge. My DVD/VCR player was plugged into a surge protector power bar. Is my player "shot"?

[email protected] Contact this email and request a refund due to the fact your issue was not fixed or otherwise resolved. Putting it in the new post will not get it done. Now to the problem, do you have a surge protector? if you do try unplugging the unit from the wall for 5 minutes, this does a cold reboot of the brain of the player. You can also contact your local electric company and request a form to be reinbursed for the damage the power outage caused, all utilities do this, it is a simple form to fill out, takes about 30 days for them to decide if this was there fault.

Sorry for the inconvenience you encounter,, But for your concern since you encounter a power surge sometimes some electronic/electric device like might git damage because of the power flactuation, probably some of its IC,s got burn if you want you take it to a repair center and hopefully they will just replace the burn IC's ..

Hope that helps......

MOST OF THE TIME IN A POWER OUTAGE , MOST ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE SUBJECT TO ELECTRICAL SURGES. THE UNITS MICROPROCESSOR WHICH CONTROLS ALL FUNCTION OF THE UNIT ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO SURGES, THEY DO NOT HAD A LOT OF SHIELDING FOR ELECTRICAL SPIKES.

regarding the problems check input settings on tv, there should be a button on the remote, also ensure dvd is not set on channel 1-99, but it is on line out (channel 0, L1, L2, AV, ETC.depending on the model)

resuming: check channel on dvd, locate and use input function on tv.

I have a GE GSH25JFTA CC refrigerator and it is not cooling properly. What should I check or replace?

Depending how long the power was off you may have an ice blockage in the freezer. Normal cooling causes the freezer coils to build up frost and snow coating all over the coils. A normal defrost cycle melts that frost/snow off and keeps the coils clear so the fans can move air through the coils.During the power outage the frost may have started to melt wetting the snow. If the refrigerator then came on and re-froze the wet frost/snow into a solid block of ice, the normal defrost cycle would not be able to clear that solid ice out. So it may be blocking the air flow. Remove freezer back panel and see if there is ice back there. If yes--use something like a hair dryer to melt everything out until it is completely clear. Make sure the fans are running also.

What do I do after power outage and monitor will not work?

If the device was plugged in when the outage started and / or when power was restored - it may have suffered a power outage related voltage "spike" (or instantaneous rise in voltage greater than it is designed to handle).

Unplug it for 5 - 10 minutes and reconnect. If it fails to function you may need repairs or replacement. Try a different monitor on the computer before condemning it - it may be a problem with the computer's video card instead.

Lost all power in the heater and all my warning for doors dont work niether dose the power door locks

Check the fuses and circuit breakers. there should be a panel either under the dash or towards the bottom of the dash and sometimes in the driverside kick panel. There is also a fuse box under the hood usually for the outside functions.

Aqua glass jetted tub quit working

Hello. There are two reset buttons in the mechanical space or your tub. You should be able to access that area from the front by removing a few screws. it is not uncommon to have to push those reset buttons after a power outage. If you do need a repair I recommend that you call a store that sells hot tubs as they will have a technician on staff or be able to guide you to one. Regards, Joe

DVD Player Only Produces Snow After Power Outage. Halp!

Sounds like your TV has lost the DVD channel. Turn off TV and make sure the DVD player is connected to TV and is playing a DVD. Now put you TV on and press the SOURCE or AV button on your TV remote until you can see the DVD channel. In older TVs you may need select channel and tune it manually using the TV setup.

Trane Heat Pump

What caused the power outage? Check the outdoor disconnect to the condenser unit. The fuses may have blown, causing the heat pump to not function and depending on the aux. heat to carry the load.
