I reformated my computer an installed a fresh copy of windows xp and have some drivers missing. Not really a problem except that my motherboard chipset cd is damaged and unreadable. After going through various websites and being unable to locate the proper drivers and the order of installation, I decided to ask the experts. List of missing drivers as listed under device manager /other devices Ethernet Controller Multimedia Audio Controller Multimedia Audio Controller PCI Device SM Bus Controller Video Controller (VGA Compatible) I would love the help as I am on my second install after a failed driver uplaod that removed ethernet controller from the device list

The official Asus website should be able to solve your problem, try the auto-detect option on the left first

http://support.asus.com/download/Options.aspx?SLanguage=en&type=1

If auto-detect doesn't work, the website is still very easy to get drivers from if you know the model of your motherboard.

I hope this helps

Blue screen error appearing while installing Windows XP. I cant install windows xp. plz help me. I want to install windows xp.

format the drive in which you have XP before , then install a fresh copy of XP

then when XP's finished first of all Update your drivers first.

Find out what graphic/video card you have.

Start Menu > Run > Dxdiag > Go to the Display Tab >
It should say the Name of the Graphic/Video card.

After you find out the name just google the card and find the drivers.

Install it and see how it works. good luck do vote

I have reformated my Dell dimension 8400 and now it doesnt see "other devices" in the device manager. I am running xp pro but bought it with xp home and even tried installing that with same...

If your missing devices are built into the motherboard (like sound, Ethernet etc.) then you need you install the setup CD that came with your computer and install the devices. This CD may also be referred to as a utility or driver CD. If you don't have this CD you will have to go to the support section of the manufacturer's website and either order a replacement CD or download the drivers for your MB.
If you missing devices are on plug-in cards or printers/scaners/ cemeras etc. that you installed after you first setup your computer then you need to install the driver CD for each missing device and run the setup program that is on the CD. If you don't have these CD's you will have to go to each manufacturer's website and either order the CD or download the drivers for the model number of the device.

System restore emachines T3504 disc missing, emachines no longer offers disc! computer is not that old! help! my daughter is heartbroken! i need the disk to complete a system restore.

Is their files that need to be retrieved from the computer? If you were doing a restore they would be lost. You have other options. Your best option is to just purchase a copy of windows xp and install a fresh copy of windows. you will still have to find the drivers on the internet and download and install the. All of this work should really be done by someone who is computer savvy but its really not that difficult.
Let me know if you have other questions.
Thanks,

Driver problem

Then the copy that she has or her friend has is not a perfect duplication. I know that it may be expensive, but have your sister buy a legal copy of XP Home, otherwise there really isnt much we can help with here, because we dont know what drivers she is missing, so we cant route you to any sites that offer what you need.

Hi,
Please install a fresh copy of Windows xp or vista whatever. And install the proper and compatible drivers that should suit your motherboard. Don't install the drivers which does not support your motherboard or Operating system. Thank you...

New XPPro Install... Can't see HD

Try to download a widows XP based driver for your Promise Controller from the manufacturer's website and install it. This is really necessary. If it does not solve the problem, you reinstall windows XP. When XP begins installtion it flashes a message like this: "Press F2 to install a third party driver......" Press F2 and insert the Promise controller driver in a floppy. This way it will work. (I hope so..) Note: Do not remove floppy untill Windows finishes installation
