USB VIRUS...? I have never seen a virus like this before... i recently installed microsoft windows xp professional (SP1) onto a newly built computer. i caught a virus before i was able to download an antivirus / firewall and it behaves in a very odd manner. i was able to install spyware doctor and zonalarm security suite (firewall + antivirus) AFTER i got the virus. i done the most thoroughest scan on both, zonealarm picked up alot of trogans, backdoor things. and spyware doctor found a program called "braviax.exe" as far as i knew, all the viruses was deleted, until i reset my computer this was. the next morning i turned my computer on and i now find my belkin wireless usb adapter "cannot be found" although it hasnt been touched. it isnt even shown in device manager. nothing disabled, usb registry number is still '3' also, zonealarm about .. every 10 seconds finds another backdoor virus. it must be duplicating. so this virus is getting smart .. so i decide copy an installer of F-Secure antivirus onto my memory stick. i have previously used this to install it onto my laptop (it consists of "virus & spy protection", "internet shield" and "spam control" HOWEVER i installed it onto my computer and it tells me it cannot be installed if zonealarm security suite is installed, so i uninstall it. then i install F-Secure. after i install F-Secure antivirus, it requests i restart. so i restart and come to find my usb memory stick now doesnt work! it blinks a light when i plug it in, but it isnt displayed in my computer or device manager and nothing comes up to install it. F-secure loads up after booting and it doesnt show no antivirus searching options unlike my laptop, now i have a firewall, but no antvirus. the virus has done this ?? so now the backdoor virus is left duplicating as we speak and i have NO controll of it. no internet access to any antivirus software, and no usb stick to copy a antivirus over to it. WHAT THE [HELL] DO I DO? this is a virus ive never experienced before . seems like its alive .. need fast support, my computer is dying lol. offering good feedback? ha :) ---------------------------------- -ALSO NOTE- as i failed to write in my last post, i am very hesitant to reformat my hard drive as i have alot of old photographs from recent years i do not have backups of, also i have thousands of songs id lose name to which i wouldnt be able to find again ha :) surely im not the first person to have this virus, the thousands of people who have got this virus surely hasnt all refomatted their HD's, lol any suggestions feel free

If you can download AVG free and Avast on a different Pc and put them on a Different memory stick or try your bugged one. Install them they have kept my Pc clean for a long time and as far as i know they don't conflict with each other. I got them on my Pc which i also built myself. If you try youre bugged memory stickand if it sees the memory stick but wont open it right click on it and click explore and that might allow you on it. But if this fails i would format youre hard drive
the download sites for the Antivirus are:

http://free.avg.com/download?prd=afe for AVG

http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Edition/3000-2239_4-10019223.html?part=dl-AvastHome&subj=dl&tag=button&cdlPid=10888427 for avast

just copy and past them into the internet if you can

Good luck !

Hi dipudps...
Download, install and run Microsoft Safety Scanner....after the scanner has run and cleaned the computer see if that solved your problem.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have a virus, worm, trojan, etc on your computer.
Go to the following website and download, install and run the FREE Microsoft Safety Scanner.
It will remove the virus, trojan, worm, etc from your computer.
It may take quite a while to finish, it all depends on the size of your hard drive.
Once the Microsoft Safety Scanner is completed running, it should have removed the virus, trojan, worm, etc. from you computer, but if it didn't remove the virus, trojan, worm, etc from your computer then it will give you an option to connect (real time) with a Microsoft professional (FREE) and he will take over control of your computer (with you permission) and finish the removal process.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

My compter be a victim of sotfware couterfeiting

Did you just purchase the computer, and it had Windows XP Professional "pre-installed"?
If so, the store that sold you the computer may have used a "counterfeit" copy of Windows, rather than using a "genuine" copy of Windows (which only cost them about $100).

Or, did you recently take the computer to a computer-store, for repair (such as after having a computer-virus), and did they reinstall Windows, again using "counterfeit" software?

Or, did a "friend" install Windows XP, using "counterfeit" software?

After connect usb, if i go into the usb drive and try to open folders, the system hangs. then i end task those folders. then system works fine. whats the solution?

It could be your anti-virus software that is "virus-scanning" all the files on the newly-attached memory-stick. That might take a while, depending on the speed of your computer.

Does this happen on _every_ computer to which you attach your memory-stick?

Blue screen on boot up. ***stop: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x86575828, 0xc0000102, 0x00000000)

This problem is generally caused by driver conflicts, corrupted operating system files, hardware conflicts and software conflicts. Sometimes virus causes this. First check recent changes to your system, maybe software installation or hardware installation and uninstall them if you did so from the Safe Mode. Also scan the system using updated antivirus. You also need to clean all the hardware components if the above mentioned tips doesn't work. Good luck..
