My friend accidentally dropped my Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX5 on the hard ground. My camera still works and I do not have any error messages or physical damage on the outside. However, now my photos almost look like they are in fish-eye mode but with only the left side being black. I know that the screen isn't broken because my pictures from before the drop are fine. I think the problem is my lens, although I cannot see anything when looking at it. Any ideas?

Apparently no physical damage but camera result shows internal damage of lens mechanism and lens assembly need to be replaced by local camera repair shop because camera will take apart for that and lens assembly can not be repaired, replacement is only option.
Let me know if there is additional question.
Thanks.

DSC-HX5 display the message on screen "turn the power off and on again". How to fix it, please?

it is easy take out digital memories and batteries and let it stand 24 hours away from heat humidity and static sources the most safe place is a glass bottle with dry rice then replace memories and recharged batteries and that will solve the problem

SONY Cyber-shot 3.2 mega pixels

Try to right click on the image files while they are read on the memory card or on the camera hard-wired to your computer. Click on copy then click on your desktop of your computer to paste them. They may just be creating short-cuts rather than placing the file onto your computer.

Lens won't close

Hey daisy16,
If this problem only started happening after you dropped your camera there is likely physical damage to the lens, and you need to have it looked at by an authorized service technician. When this camera has a hardware problem it will tell the user to turn it off and back on, but since the physical problem is not actually resolved by doing this you gets the message again.

Sincerely,
Allan

System error sony DSC-w70

Try re-charging your battery or you may check your memory stick. If the cause of this problem is by an accidental drop of the device, then may be you suspected right on the lens. It may cause dis a line of gears... ^_^
