I have a 1994 gsx750f katana. it ran great, then it rained and it wouldn't run. I found water all around one of the spark plugs. the spark plug cap is damaged, and I don't know if I need a 10/12 mm spark plug cap, or a 14mm cap. any ideas on a new coil pack that I can actually change spark plug wires instead of the whole coil pack? @
Rubber plug well seal is not properly positioned...dont mess with anything..I know katana. Properly position rubber water seal. Replace old plug wires with dielectric grease to help water proof...its not anything major katana are bulletproof!
When battery become weak on old katana, they dont seem to produce enough energy to make sufficient spark..also the petcock works off a vacuum line...after long intervals of not running petcock has to be on prime to flow fuel..also if the fuel tank ground wire is to making a connection, the will not produce spark..to mess with things. Katana's are bulletproof. Almost all problems are simple or caused by something we did. Eye knows

its more likely you have got water into the ignition system. give the coils cdi and plug leads a good dousing with wd40 or any water displacing fluid.
SOURCE: Engine smokes / Ignition coil wire repairable?
Just screw the cap onto the lead if it falls off cut about 6mm off the lead and try again, a standard socket for a plug of your size should fit be sure to use a proper plug socket
smoke from the front of the engine could be from the exhaust where they bolt to the head,
Get your self a good degreaser and wash down the engine then run up the bike and look for oil leak dont ride the bike as a little oil will go a long way and it will be harder to see where its leaking, usual suspects rocker cover gasket if the oil is high up,
SOURCE: Bike wont start
Install new spark plugs and add a can of seafoam to your gas at the rate of one ounce per gallon to clean your carbeurator.
SOURCE: Spark plugs keep fouling out
TOO RICH!!!!
could be just the mixtuer is out on a couple of cylinders [ float levels ]
if revs ar changing fo no apparent reason thats the diaghrams
SOURCE: Bike back fires
its sounds like your carby needs a tune..... it really isnt hard to do yourself if you know hot to adjust the jets but really should go to a shop.......wont cost much at all just rid in wait 5 mins and ride away but if i were you i would put it in for a major service if you have the money to coz the mechanics will find any little problems before they turn into big ones

I've put over 150k miles on 99 katana 750..the rubber water seals over the plug wells fail to keep rain water out...make sure the rubber water seals are positioned properly...install new plug wires with electric grease to aid in waterproofing. Store inside or covered and start regularly...
I've replaced ecu crank sensor, all variety of stuff when the problem was as simple as the ground wire to the fuel tank...ethanol fuel will gunk up the carbs...I hate ethanol and carbs...simple solution..ride the bike..or at least start it every month...when ethanol gunks up the carbs...dont put additives in the fuel...additives are NEVER the solution...pull the carbs together. Flip them over. Remove the bowls. Unscrew the jets. Blow them out with air only until unobstructed...put all back together...long painful process...learn to ride or at least start monthly
