Perform a cleaning operation on the printer via the computer printer driver, this will remove any hardened ink.

AND

open the lid remove both cartridges and look where the printer head parks itself, you will find a sponge at the bottom, it will be totally soaked in ink.

1) clean the excess ink of the sponge, do not remove the sponge.

I installed a new cartridge for a Laserjet 2300 and it keeps printing with dark horizontal lines. How can I fix it?

first verify it's the new cartridge, if possible replace with another to confirm cartridge problem, and if so just install another one.

but if it's not the cartridge it could me a number of reasons, from a bad fuser leaving marks or a scanner failure or even a charge problem.

need to first eliminate the obvious.

How can I get rid of horizontal blue lines? I have lexmark 5150 ''three in one'' printer. Every time I print horizontal blue lines appear across the paper. Please help.

Hello. Your cartridge, probably, just needs cleaning. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a warm, damp paper
towel. Set one ink cartridge on
the paper towel like how it is
placed in the printer - nozzles
facing down. Drag the cartridge
lightly across the paper towel in
one direction (left to right)
until the bottom of the cartridge
looks clean. Do the same thing to
the other cartridge. Place them back in the printer. If problem persists, try to check this link to the Lexmark website. http://bit.ly/a8KP8M . It gives you another way of cleaning the cartridge nozzles. Hope these resolves the problem. Good luck!

Why would my printer print pictures with lines through them? The lines are horizontal and consistent throughout the picture.

It sounds like your printer needs a cartridge alignment. This can be done through your printer software. If that doesn't work, it needs a new cartridge.

When I print three horizontal lines on the paper even I changed new original drum.

Hi!

There are so many possibilities due to which you may get horizontal lines while printing. Please check these one by one---

1. The corona wire in the cartridge may need cleaning, although the one in the printer is usually at fault. The corona wire can be reached through the top front slot of the cartridge. Use a Q-Tip.

2. PCR (charge roller) is loose or defective in cartridge or defective toner bin. Change the cartridge as it will get worse.

3. The moisture content of the paper could be too high. Store paper in a temperature controlled area.

4. The transfer roller could be going bad. This is the spongy feeding roller in your printer which is right under the cartridge head when you put it in your printer. You can replace the roller yourself, for under $20.00.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Horizontal white lines through the text

Your ink cartridge (s) is dried up, even some new ones are dried up, even tho' they're sealed.

Some self-tests don't use black.

New printer cartridge in Lexmark 8350; blue lines on pics and papers

In Lexmark printers the ink cartridges can get clogged sometimes. Re-cleaning the nozzles might help fix your problem. Make sure your ink cartridge is not getting empty.
Hope this helps.

Lexmark X3350 printing

i just fixed this problem.  first i bought a new (remanufactured 3rd party) cartridge off ebay and found it wasn't working either.

there are cartridge cleaning instructions in the troubleshooting help section that show you how to carefully wipe clean your cartridges.  follow that, it solved my problem.
