The XBox 360 is a wonderful video
game console, however, with heavy usage, the laser (and/or other components in
the drive) will eventually burn out.
The first signs of the laser starting to burn out is that your game will start
freezing during game play. Eventually the games will stop reading altogether
and you will get an "OPEN TRAY" message when you put a disc in and close the
tray. What this means is that the XBox 360 thinks that there is no disc in
the system.
You can find more information about this issue, find parts to repair it, or send your system to repair all at the following website:
Try turning the xbox on and off. Try removing the power from the xbox and plugging it back in. Try other discs and see if it works. Try doing updates on your xbox360 and see if that fixes the problem. That fixed mine with Halo.
Well if you bought it in Feb. of this year I would just send it into M$. If the problem you are having is that it says "Open Tray" after putting a game in, means the calibration on the drive isn't strong enough to read the games and needs tweaked. M$ will fix it for free if the system is still under the 1 year warranty.
you need to unplug ever cable you have and every accessory you have. Unplug adapters memory units hd inter coolers every thing. let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Plug everything back in then press the button to open the tray to turn it on then put in a different game keep it open . Then when the menu comes go into a program so you can't see play game or close tray. Then when you are in the right place close the tray and it should load. This worked for me 2 times.
Try putting the game in straight. By straight i mean putting the disc in where the xbox 360 logo at the top of the disc goes in the tray towards the xbox360. if that does not work contact microsoft
Well I just recently purchased an XBOX 360 about a month ago form
gamestation(used). It was giving me disc read errors every time iplayed
it, but i opened it up and cleaned my TOSHIBA drive and wiped
everything down with a cotton bud, and then lubed up all of the parts which
needed to be.
