U might want to check the fan and make sure the blades are not bent and hitting the condenser coil

  • Anonymous Apr 13, 2011

The blades are not bent but it does seem to be fan related as I can hear something (water?) hitting the blades. It's the kind of noise that sounds like when you stick someting in a fan. But that sound is rare and only last a few seconds. The other times, it's tick..tick. tick, tick. and then it stops. Weird.

Ok the only thing i can suggest is pull the Fridge out take the shroud off the fan motor make the fan come on and watch it..it could be fan hitting the shroud or it might be the drain pan under the fridge or it may need a drop of 3 in 1 oil in the bearing,i know this is not a solution to your problem but i hope this will steer u in the right direction......

Why is the food in the freezer soft?

I would be suspicious that the temperature is not low enough and the food is not completely frozen.

THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS THE FOOD COULD EASILY NOW CONTAIN BACTERIA THAT WOULD CAUSE ILLNESS.

I WOULD NOT TRUST THE SAFETY OF ANY OF THE FOOD, AND WOULD NOT CONTINUE TO USE THE FREEZER UNTIL I COULD GET IT COLD ENOUGH.

Brand new french door maytag refrigerator makes a loud knocking sound off and on all day. Is that normal ?

im sorry to tell you, but the sound is probobly normal.
fridges these days make some weird noises.
they started making noises when they changed the gas to R34a.
you may be able to get a noise ruduction kit for your model. they are not too fun to install

Popping noise

what you are describing sounds like the refrigerant flowing through the evaporator that is in the freezer. when the weather is hotter and more humid out the unit has to work harder to keep it cool so you may hear more noise due to the compressor running longer and more often. so most times it is normal to hear it at some point in time.
