I have the same issue..we have a Panasonic Panafax UF 595 and we're getting a "no toner cartridge" error 045 after inserting a full- brand new toner, we get the same error. Like it's not recognizing that there is a new toner in there.

If you mean a 788, there are moveable tabs on the front top of the cartridge that trip switches. Move them around.

Several companies have their own brand names on Panafax's. Their toner won't work. Kyocera must be kyocera Toner, Canon must be Canon toner, etc.

Changed the Toner in Fax Machine and Still reads "Low Toner"

First, the obvious
  • Did you gently rock the toner cartridge from side to side to evenly distribute the toner?
  • Did the cartridge "click" into place?(did lock lever pop up when it was inserted)
  • Did you replace the protective cover securely?
Another thing to check is cleaning the Corona wire inside by sliding the Blue tab back and forth several times. Important to return the Blue tab back to the "Home" position afterward.
If you've done ALL of these steps correctly, and the low toner message is still there, a service call is in order. Best of luck with your machine!

Panafax uf 780

Make sure you have not installed a Toner Cartridge made for the Panafax 585/595 or one for a Kyocera-Mita KM-F650.or Pitney Bowes

It should be UG-5510

The all look identical.

It sounds like the toner is getting low. Take out the toner cartridge and rock it back and forth a few times to redistribute the toner evenly in the cartridge. If this makes the printouts look better, you should order another cartridge, as this one is getting low. I'm not sure about the L-100, but the toner cartridge for the L-120 fax is good for about 2,000 copies.

Changing cartridge

The cartridge is probably not seating correctly in the machine. These cartridges are made with a plastic flashing on the drum shield that mates with a sensor actuator in the machine. Problem is, Panasonic made the same machine with sensor actuators in slightly different places for machines made in different parts of the world. This is so you couldn't use cartridges made in different places or for similar print engines such as HP or Lexmark, which are cheaper. You will have to fiddle with this so that the actuator is tripped, I usually remove the drum guard complete with springs and defeat the actuator with a rolled up ball of paper.

Machine will not reset after toner replacement

Info code 45 really means Toner cartridge is not installed.Info code 41 is out of toner & code 43 is toner getting low. There are three connection points inside of the fax machine that tell the machine that a cartridge is installed. Open the cartridge door & remove the cartridge. Verify that the metal tabs on the right hand side above the drive gear stick out far enough to make contact with the cartridge. There should also be two wires that are located on the left hand side that also make contact with the cartridge. Try putting your used/empty cartridge in & see if your info code changes to a 41 or 43.If not, you may have a broken connection. I have found that some compatible cartridges for the panafaxes are missing metal tabs that make contact with the connectors. Compare a cartridge that worked to the one that doesn't to see if it's missing metal tabs. This is not an issue if you are using OEM. Good luck! I can be reached by email if you have any questions.
