here's what you can do:-disconnect the printer from the computer-turn off the printer-inspect for anything foreign inside like jammed paper-turn the power back on-remove the ink cartridge-check the chip connnector at ink tank and at head carriage. If its dirty clean it with soft moist cloth. -check the status monitor. which ink tank not recognized. -press ink light (1-4 times) depends on number ink tank not recognized, press 1 time again, carriage will move co replacement position, unplug and plug again all ink tank, press ink light 1 more. if that doesn't work, replace ink cartridge ONLY if you have a spare. DO NOT BUY new ink as the printer is bound for repair.
did buying Canon cartridges rectify the U051 problem? do not want to pay out for more new cartridges (bought last ones from Cartridge world!) and not fix the problem. thanks
It's because you touched the connection side of the cartidge. Clean it with some contact cleaner(or surgical sprit)and let it dry.If possible clean the printer side of catridge contact. After both are dried well, put the catridge back.it must work.
