If the router is too new it may not be backwards compatible with wireless b standards. Otherwise check the router settings for something like "wireless b mode" adding older technology will slow down all devices on the wireless network. It may be easier to find a used wireless g pcmcia card online.

Disconnect the electrical power from the router.

I have a Netgear wireless router WGR614 v5 with the AC adapter of 120V-60Hz-16W. I've moved to Europe where the electricity is 220V. Can I use an AC adapter of 220V for this wireless router? Thanks a lot...

Yes, make sure you have a new power supply with the right voltage output, enough current (if the new power supply is rated for more current output, it will be OK), and the right plug with the right polarity.

Check your power supply, some will actually work with a wide range of voltage, some actually go from 100-250VAC. 50Hz-60Hz

SMC EZ Connect 2862W-G does not see Linksys network

It shows that your wireless router and wireless adapters are both working. One thing to try is changing your wireless channel. Since you are already using 11, try maybe 1 or 9. Check if your SMC adapter will pick up the wireless signal.

By the way, how far is your computer (using the SMC adapter) to your wireless router?
