Hi I have a samsung DVD player model number p181 & when I insert DVD message comes up wrong regioncan you please help, thanks

Hi,on most of the DVD players regional set up cannot be changed.
As an easy solution ,you can play them in your Laptop and with proper connection you can watch them on your TV as well..

Hope this helps! Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up for me to continue for Helping out the Community :)

DVD region codes are a digital-rights management technique designed to allow film distributors to control aspects of a release, including content, release date, and price, according to the region.DVD video discs may be encoded with a region code restricting the area of the world in which they can be played.

The American DVD Copy Control Association in California requires that DVD-player manufacturers incorporate the regional-playback control (RPC) system - according to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, an Australian government agency.[1]

There are six different official regions and two informal variations.[citation needed] DVDs may use one code, a combination of codes (Multi-Region), most codes (Region 0) or every code/no codes (Region All). The commercial DVD player specification requires that a player to be sold in a given place not play discs encoded for a different region; however, region-free DVD players are also commercially available.[2] In addition, many DVD players can be modified to be region-free, allowing playback of all discs.[3]

Need to unlock the region code so that I can play Australian DVD's on UK machine

Go to videohelp.com and search on the model number - the sequence of remote control keys to press to change the region code is there. It worked well for me, so I could play US DVDs on my UK region machine.

Hi there, have a Samsung DVDV6800 purchased in July that wont play all region discs. Can you tell me how to put in the codes for multi zones?

1. Power on your player with no disc in the tray. Wait for message "No Disc" in the top left hand corner of your screen.
2. Press and hold the Repeat button on your remote control for approximately 5 seconds.
3. Enter the code below. (Note that you must know what Region your player is currently set to in order to know which code is appropriate.)
for Region 1 use 2, 9, 3, 3 and 4
for Region 2 use 3, 8, 7, 6 and 7
for Region 3 use 5, 6, 7, 3 and 2
for Region 4 use 7, 6, 8, 8 and 4
for Region 5 use 5, 3, 8, 1 and 4
for Region 6 use 2, 4, 4, 6 and 2
4. The message "No Disc" will now be replaced with the default region number of your player. For example, Australian and N.Z players will display a small "4".
5. Press "9" for multi-region.
6. Open tray and insert your title.
7. Close tray.

The player will continue to hold the changes you have made. If this does work for you the first time, keep repeating steps 2&3 until the players default region number appears. The amount of time holding the repeat button does seem critical.

Does not play dvds

If you have no issues with any other DVD except THIS one, then You could try looking towards the region code of the DVD. The bottom line is, If you can see other DVD's with no problem, then the issue is the DVD, not your drive or computer.

Region codes

While looking through some forum posts i found the way to fix the problem. It takes a bit of fiddling around but it does work... I tried it out last night.

Firstly you need to put a DVD of a different region into your player and wait for it to start to read the DVD before you commence the procedure... it takes a bit to get the timing right.

when the DVD can't be read it, on screen Eject Disc will come up

Press Repeat & Hold 3 Seconds (it may work using either repeat button on the bottom, i tried both.

Press 76884
After entering those 5 digits, you should see a number in the top left corner of the screen corresponding to the current region (4 being Australia region)

Press 9 for "auto-region" mode ie. Region Free
Turn Off Machine
and there you have it. The timing is crucial so start trying as soon as the DVD is in. It took me 5 goes before it worked.

You will notice that it may take a bit longer for the other Region DVDs to be read then normal but it's only a few seconds longer.

Dvd player

Well - in Germany/Europe, they use Region Code 2/PAL and in N. Amercia we use Region 1/NTSC coding. Most DVD players only play one or the other format.

Dvd region codes

Try this (for a LH-T360SE)

Open disk tray and press 0000, a two line menu appears with "Edit Region _" and "Region Code:x" put in required region (presumably 0) and press enter. Region Code:0 appears. power off and enjoy.

region code 0 is No region restrictions.
