No laughing ... I am not familiar with this board. If it is the board in the pic, I see it has PCI slots. If you have PCI slots,I know there is such a thing as a USB-2 PCI board because I have several I use to upgrade boards as old or older than yours. The trick is to find the proper PCI board. Be aware there are PCI 1 and 2. I dont know what operating system you are using, you dont say. A question you will have to find the answer to is will the OS run USB-2?
My advice is you go to a small computer repair place in your city and see if they can help you find a board to solve this dilemma. Expect to pay up to $45.00 US for this board.
You wanna laff ... I have several Windows 98 Second Edition computers running on my network ... wanna nother laff, I still use my Amiga with a Motorola 68000 processor that runs at 6 mHz. It was advertised as one that has "Blistering Speed". The Amiga has a "bridge board" that runs a 286 chip with Windows 3.11. Now you can laff.
Thanks for your interest in FixYa.com and good luck with your search.
If the onboard USB is 1.0, it cannot be upgraded by software. You need to purchase a USB 2.0 adapter either inernal or external. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response Thanks, Joe
USB Cards - Can add additional USB ports to your computer. Unlike a USB Hub these do not require external power. There are 2 standards, USB1.1, and USB 2.0. USB 2.0 is the latest standard and allows you to connect high use devices such as external hard drives. USB 2.0 is backwards compatible to USB 1.1, but will run at the lower speed of USB 1.1. USB 1.1 cannot support high use devices and cannot be upgraded by itself. A USB 2.0 card can let you add 2 to 4 additional ports.

Hi bubbapea,
What you wanted is very possible. All you have to do is to purchase a USB 2.0 PCI expansion similar to this http://a4.bing4.com/thumb/get?bid=Pe5VK%2fdTuOovlQ&bn=CC&fbid=7wIR63%2bClmj%2b0A&fbn=CC
Hope it works,
