Glad to HELP YOU!

I'd say it's a problem with your VIDEO CARD.
The video card could have a break or a short that could result in a poor/bad signal being sent to your display. The extra load on it (in sending information to the monitor) could have been generated a malfunction of the card.

Try to make up-to-date the driver if possible. To do so connect to your machine another monitor (through cable, of course) and see if you can have "image" there. If yes, then go for the update!
To do so go
right-click on MY COMPUTER > PROPERTIES > HARDWARE > DEVICE MANAGER
and there select VIDEO CARD (or whatever is called) from the list of devices.
Right-click on VIDEO CARD > PROPERTIES > UPDATE DRIVER
After the update was done REBOOT.

Laptop screen flickering

The video inverter may be failing, BUT...

More than likely the backlight is failing. If you can still see a VERY faint image on the screen this is almost certainly the problem. This is a very difficult fix. I recommend a replacement LCD.

It MIGHT be a bad lcd cable. With the laptop on, slowly open it from closed to open and back again and see if there is a position where the laptop screen does not flicker or turn off, [or if it does turn off if it turns back on.

If the screen goes COMPLETELY black then your GPU is failing.

hi

what you are experiencing is that your screen bulb is burnt.the screen bulb is what lights up your screen, its just like a fluorescent tube, when it is burnt it flickers for a while and it later goes off.. the only solution is to change the screen bulb as soon as you can

After turnoing on my sl500 the screen flickers and turns black

Check your video adapter settings. try to set it on clone and see if the picture would appear the same on your LCD. From there you select it back to your LCD. Just make sure the primary display is set to your LCD and apply the changes.

Hope this helps.

Laptop screen flickering in hp laptop. had it for 1 year. screen stays on but flickers black very quickly

You most likely have a faulty CCFL lamp, To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Black screen/flickering

try using an external monitor, if the problem doesn't happen on the external monitor then definitely the problem is with the LCD screen. Possible replacement required for the LCD panel.
