The most likely problem is with the Switch Mode Power suplly (SMPS) However it cannot be confirmed as you did not mention whether the tv screen is dark or having any raster (lighted up).
Do you get the green LED ' Power on' indicator lighted up or stays red only.
If it is green your problem is either with the Horizontal/vertical output stage.

So state more about the current status of your TV

My 2003 Pontiac Grand Am whistles when I accelerate quickly and always when I am going 40 mph or more. It also recently started to shift differently, it feels like it is taking longer to shift.

The first thing is to make sure you are not low on transmission fluid. I would expect more a whining noise than a whistling. But the slower shifts may definitely indicate a low fluid level and/or fluid that is long overdue for a drain and refill.

Samsung 40" flat screen looses sound

this problem started on my LN-S4051D a couple of years ago. eventually the sound stopped working altogether. I then started using my surround sound speakers for the TV via optical out but soon that stopped working as well. I recently took the TV to a repair shop who said that the main board is bad and needs to be replaced. Labor plus parts was going to cost me $400. I said no thanks and paid for the estimate. Good luck.

We have the same DLP set and had the same problem. The Color Wheel, P/N BP96-00250A, a $200 part needs replacement to eliminate your problem.

New Samsung Tv High pitched hum

Don't know if people are still having this issue or not but figured I'd post what i went through to help anyone that has. My LN-T3253H tv as out of warranty when I finally got around to calling Samsung. They flat out lied about the commonality of this problem and I convinced them to at least pay for any parts. Problem is the labor of a technician would be around $150. So, I bought the new power supply from Partstore.com for around $70. Just go to partstore.com and enter your model number and look for the power supply on the page. It took 3 days to get the part. It was very easy to replace. All you have to do take off the back cover of the tv (think there were around 12 screws all around the outside and one where the A/V connections are and pull off. Unhook the plugs going to the power supply and the four screws holding the board and then replace with the new board. So far, this fixed the issue. Keep your old board in case it starts happening again. You can probably have the old board repaired to fix the original problem since so many TV repair shops are aware of the issue. I am trying to find out from someone which specific capacitor or other piece is causing the issue and plan on fixing it myself. If and when I do, I will also post that.

Make sure you give Samsung a ton of grief when you speak to them and see if they lie to you also. I had just bought two of the new Samsung LED TV's for my media room. They work great but I returned both because of Samsung's refusal to fix my LN-T3253H and I will never, ever buy Samsung products again.

patrioticdog-I have just answered a similar problem, you can remove the back and find the flyback transformer. The big part with the round rubber plug hooked to the pix tube. there will be two controls on the flyback one for focus one for screen. turn up the screen ever so slightly, your screen will brighten up.Also if you check the main pcboard ass'y there may be a sub bright control same thing small adjustments. maybe tell the guy to give a bit off cause of repair ,good luck let me know. cooltek Feb15/08
