Your convergence ICs need to be replaced. Please respond to this same post and verify your model number and I will post the correct ICs for your model and post a link where you can get replacements with free instalation instructions.

SOURCE: Hitachi rear projection lcd lp500 series

It is likely the projection lamp is weak, causing the picture to cycle on and off. Take the lamp out and examine the reflector. If it is dull and cloudy, it's time to replace the lamp. A new lamp will have a reflector that is shiny and looks like a mirror. Be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!

SOURCE: Hitachi 43FDX15B has a red tint...

This can be caused by a few things. The red crt/picture tube is going bad, which it would have to be replaced, tube can cost anywhere around $195 and up, if it is available. Another problem can be a bad transistor or IC on the red crt circuit board. Either way it should be taken to a repair shop. The average cost for repair could be over $300.

I have a 50" hitachi rear projection tv, do i need

rozmyers,

You do not need a high def receiver, your unit has an ATSC tuner which is the same thing. You do need to hook it up to a high definition signal. You mentioned that you have satellite. Call your supplier and order the high definition channels if you do not already have them on the downlink. They should be able to tell you if you have them or not. They should also be able to tell you which channels they are (normally the higher ones). Once you have a high definition feed you will have the best picture you are going to get with todays technology.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Please consider a testimonial.

I would like to know if the Hitachi 51UWX20B television can be connected to the internet.

Your Hitachi 51UWX20B is an HDTV-Ready TV. No Digital Tuner. HDTV-Ready means that your TV set is capable of displaying analog and high-definition digital pictures, but without a digital tuner, it cannot receive the digital signal. An HDTV-Ready requires an external high-definition TV receiver (digital tuner) in order to receive HDTV signals. These external receivers can be called an HDTV Tuner, set-top-box, decoder or DTV Converter Box . So you will be required to purchase a converter box to receive over the air programming from an external antenna.

Hitachi C50-FD2000 Screen Distorted

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs. To get fixed either call in a local TV repair company or goto sites such as Tv Repair Kits to get a repair kit with instructions. Here is there link.

They have put together complete kits for most models that include the parts, step by step photo instructions, repair assistance, etc.

Blue color doesnt muve up

hi there. sounds like a bad convergence IC. possibly a broken connection(s), parts are located on a large heatsink near the center of the main chassis, part number is STK391-110 for standard definition and STK391-570 for high definition, the location and part numbers can vary from model to model and year to year. hope this helps.good luck and be safe.
