If you're getting "Contact Service Provider" error message, then you simply need to leave the phone on with a SIM card on it for about 8-12hrs. This should reset the unlock counter of the phone.
Unlock Motorola RAZR V3
If your phone is telling you that your Sim card is not valid.
There is two possible conditions.
1) There is water on you sim card or it is dirty
What to do: Take yout phone apart (back caver, batteries, SIM card, abd
memcard) dry everything and clean it up. Then put it back together.
2) Your sim card is scratched. To ensure it try that sim in another phone and see....
Only thing to do: Buy a new Sim card.
Hope my info solves your problem, Thanx for using fixya....
H2o, on the phone. It may still be saved. the only thing is that you may not have the tools to open the phone. the tools needed are a T-5 and T-6 for most V3. my best idea is to try to softly scrape the Sim Card reader Prongs/contacts. but please if you have never open a v3 don't try it. just take to your local service provider or to one of those guys with a accessories stand selling the face plate replacement @ the mall. they may not charge you anything .and cross your fingers so the micro resistors inside the phone did not fried, this happens if the phone was ON when it got water in it.
Hope this helps
I had the EXACT same problem this morning. After leaving the cingular store where the guy just wanted to sell me a new phone, I went home and took the phone apart - just took off the battery cover, battery, sim card and the rest of the back cover, reattached cover, put everything back together and everything works fine now! Try it - good luck! You need a T5 torx bit to remove the two screws holding on the back cover.
your camera is faulty and needs to be replaced or it could be a problem with the phone. I suspect the camera once everything else is working o.k. You need 2 take your phone to the nearest service technician to get it replaced.
Replacing the camera is fairly easy from my experience as a repair tech.
