I have an Electrolux EW28BS71IS and I have water dripping from the ice maker. When I take the ice maker tray out it has water sitting in the bottom of it. I can't tell if it might be overfilling the icemaker or if the ice is melting to create the water in the tray. It seems the more I use the ice the more water that builds up.

This is because the cooling gas inside the refrigerator should have decreased in volume

Good Morning Denise, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, please check these tips, in this order:

It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these: If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire. If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire. In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again.

Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts!

Also the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, may be faulty and if necessary either parts may need replacing. The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it after proper diagnoses.

Best regards!

I put in a new ice maker ( the old one broke) and it only dumped ice once

Make sure the door switch operates the light in the freezer because power is supplied to the im through this switch. Insure the freezer is 15 degrees or lower, these temps need to be reached before the im will cycle. Access the blue tube on the blue valve, disconnect it and blow through it. If you cant blow through it look at the tube that comes from the ceiling to the ice maker and check for ice blocking the tube. If water is coming through the dispenser then the water line that feeds the valve is not frozen and you either have a bad valve or a restricted fill tube.

Ice maker not working

my icemaker has a wire overfill sensor which shuts off the icemaker if there is too much ice in the basket. If this wire gets pushed up it will stop making ice until level lowers OR manually lowered.

Electrolux EW28BS71IS French Door Fridge no water and no ice

First check that you have good water pressure to the water valve. If you do, then the problem is in your refrigerator. And the most likely fault is the solenoid controled water valve which is a one in two out valve. Follow the water line from you house input and the first place it connects is that valve.

I have an electrolux double door freezer on the bottom. the ice maker leakes water from the back and water drips from the dispenser inthe front. the cubs in the tray clump together does anyone help me...

That is simply your dual water control valve found on the back of most refrigerators. If I had your model number I would be able to point out the part number and location. Here is what happens. The water valve begins to slowly leak water that comes to the ice maker when not needed. It moves slow enough that it begins to freeze solid inside the fill tube to ice maker and when the ice maker calls for water there is a big chunk of ice in the way and the water goes everywhere but where it should. Here is a short clip with lots of info, Please Rate and Thanks, Sea Breeze

My ice maker wont make ice and the water line works and nthing is clogged, what should i do?

So check if there is water in the ice cube tray. Where the cubes sit before they would usually be popped out by those 8 plastic tabs in a row. If there is water in that tray then check the freezer temp. 33 f is cold but will never make ice. If no water then you have a bad water valve control in fridge.

Ice maker won't stop dripping

If your i/m is dripping you most likely have a crack in the ice mold, you should replace the ice maker.
