When I replaced my black cartridge (96) into my 7410 printer the printer tells me that I don't have it inserted correctly.

1. Try to clean the ink cartridge contact
2. Clean the electrical contacts inside the printer
3. Reset the printer by unplugging the power cord at the back of the printer while it is still on. Before you plug it back in make sure that you press and hold # and 3. Keep holding the two buttons until the printer would say partial reset. If you have a problem then that would either be the inkcartridge is bad or the printer is not anymore detecting the ink cartridge.

Replacement color cartridge is not shaped the same as the original color cartridge and does not fit into the cartridge slot.

Make sure you are inserting the correct cartridge versions in your Lexmark printer. The Lexmark X5470 uses the 32/34 black cartridge and 33/35 color cartridges.

10.92 errror message. I have install a new black cartridge but the message keep telling me to close the door. HELP PLEASE. THAQNKSw

10.92.XX says that the print cartridge XX(00=black, 01=cyan, 02=magenta, 03=yellow) is not engaged correctly.

Since the error occurred after replacing the black cartridge, it's a good bet that the black is bad.
Put the old black in the printer and see if the error goes away.
Open and close the front door slowly and look at the cartridges. You should see the cartridge flaps all open and close as you open and close the front door.
If the flaps don't all open and close, the cartridge lock mechanism could be broken.
You can run the DISABLE CARTRIDGE CHECK diagnostic. This will allow you to remove all the cartridges and install all or one in any slot you want. In your case remove them all and put the cyan in the black slot and see if the error goes away. If yes, put the black in any empty slot. If the error returns, the black is definitely bad.

Flashes E C . both printer cartridge lights flash, I just replaced both ink cartridges , and it willnot print. I tried replugging in everything.

Make sure you are using the correct cartridges for your printer and that they are inserted in the correct cartridge slots (14 black in the left carrier and 15 color in the right carrier). If error continues, try to insert different known working cartridges to determine if the other is faulty.

I installed both a color and black cartridege but its telling me black cartridge is missing. I removed tape from both catridges and they are both placed in correct carrier.

It could be that your black cartridge needs cleaning. On your printer operator panel, press Options -> Maintenance -> Clean Cartridges. Your printer will then print a test page forcing ink through your cartridge nozzles. Try to print your document again to check if black cartridge is working now. If not, you could try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if the other is faulty.

I have a all in one scanner and the black ink is empty i want to put a new one in do i have to change both cartridges at the same time and where is the spot that they go

You don`t have to replace both cartridges at the same time but the printer must have both cartridges inside to be fully functional.
In all printers there is a stiker that tells you the cartridge model or the cap color of the cartridge that goes in the correct place.

The printer doesn't recognize the new original HP color cartridge

There is a small spring that holds the ink cartridge in the ink holder. You will see it stick out from the right hand side of the ink holder where the ink cartridge slides in. If that spring isn't being held to the ink holder by two plastic tabs, (I.E. the plastic tabs are broken) the printer will never recognize the cartridge. If the printer is still under warranty I would contact HP or an authorized repair center for HP. Both the black and color ink holder has this spring. I know of no way to repair this kind of breakage.

Continually says align print cartridges

My guess is that the color cartridge is either defective or not inserted correctly. I have a 6110 and know that inserting a print cartridge is a little tricky. If it isn't completely inserted and the top latch fastened correctly, the cartridge either won't work or produce errors.

Try reseating the color cartridge so it's inserted in exactly the same way as the black cartridge and run a print job again.

Open the following web page and go to Step three to see the instructions for cleaning the electronic contacts on the cartridge and print carriage.

Ink Cartridge Alignment Fails

Those seem the most likely causes and solutions to me. Good luck.

Correctly fitting ink cartridge/pring head relign?

Here is a link for the user's manual. It will tell you how to correctly insert the cartridges and do a print head alignment.
