Samsung V-scan Adjustment to fix Blue pixels?

Hi I noticed your response to someone on the fix for error diffusion. Just wondering if that is the problem with my Samsung HP-S4253 plasma. I am getting blobs of blue pixels on the bottom left and right of my plasma. Seem to appear after it is on for about 30 min and are most noticable in scenes where there is white or a light in that area of the the shot/scene.

I am 6 months out of warranty and Samsung is giving me the run around about this being a problem that they need to fix. I would be very gratefull if you could let me know a fix for this problem. Hopefully it as simple as a quick adjustment.

thanks!

I am experiencing the same problem with my H_S4253 and have not found a solution yet. The Best Buy Manager said it was a faulty model and there have been several complaints and no solutions. I will not buy Samsung ever again.

I too have the same problem HP-S4253 I had this for 6 months when the Plasma TV started to get red pixels in any area that had dark or black colors, Samsung sent out a repair man he arrived and replaced the main board and the video board, the TV worked great until now 10 months out of warranty I have that blue tint that just about every Samsung plasma owner is experiencing, about and hour into viewing it shows up, and gets worse the longer the TV is on. I would like to fix it my self it seems that there is a voltage setting to adjust but I do not have any Idea how to do this.

You would need to have a technician remove the back of the TV and make the adjustment. There are 2 small adjusters that they change to adjust the voltage.

SOURCE: Blue Bleeding on Plasma Screen

I was having some increasingly severe pixilation on the left side of my 42" Samsung plasma. After reading this thread, i took off the back of the panel. I cleaned all vents but made no adjustments as i could not find what i needed to adjust. The only other change i made was i unplugged the TV from my surge protector that had 7 other things plugged into it and plugged it straight into the wall. After turning the TV back on, i was pleasantly surprised to find that the problem was fixed. I'm not sure if the vents were blocked & it was over heating or if i had interference through my surge bar, but i do know i am more then happy that it is fixed!

You could try fixing it with the burn-in/pixel adjusting DVD at http://www.fixburnin.com, not sure if it will fix it, but there is a 30 day refund or something and its 20.00 or so.

Error diffusion on Samsung 50" PLASMA TV

Yes the diffusion problem on your tv is due to the pdp panel aging. What you can try is readjusting the VSCAN voltage, there is a test point marked VSCAN using a DVM you can first check the voltage, should be around -- 190 turn the adjustment counter clockwise this should reduce the voltage, watcthing the picture turn control untill the sparkling pixels stop. That should do it. The panel is starting to age this may occur again until you can't adjust it out meaning a bad panel.

V-scan voltage adjustment

If you adjust v-scan make sure you adjust it for the setting that is marked on the panel when you take the back off. Why do you want to adjust v-scan? are you noticing red pixels firing or green ones? This is a diffusion problem and i am familiar with the fix for that. Let me know and we can go from there. Also what is the version of the HP-R5052? Talk to you soon . Thank you Jay

Plasma tv

this happens because of panel conditioning. as the panel ages it requires different voltages to produce the picture.it takes about 1000 hrs before it has conditioned. it is a simple adjustment a tech can do for you. when this adjustment is made no other adjustment will be needed for this problem.

Samsung

I have posted this in other areas and it appears to be a diffusion problem meaning the panel needs an electrical adjustment and can be done by a technician or you if you dare. Depends on how handy with electronics you are. But there are some adjustments you can do to minimize or remove these red or blue pixels firing randomly. Try adjusting V-SUS, V-SET, and check all other ones. VE, VS, VA, and see what happens. Write all voltages down first then go tweeking. I do have a bulletin here that states exactly what to do, I just have to find it. Let me know if you have any luck with this procedure first. Oh Yea, make sure you use the internal generator, the wipe screen from black to white so as to see both at the same time while adjusting the picture. It helps to have it on the stand when doing this procedure. Let me know if i can be of anymore assistance. Cheers. Jay
