Question about Vivitar ViviCam 20 Digital Camera

Would like help w/ vivicam 20

Hi,
Hoping you can help!
I have a Vivicam 20. Have the CD. Installed the CD but the thing doesn't work.
It tells me there is no CIF image to create AVI (AVI Maker).
I can't get anything up. Also when I plug the cable in the camera stays on "PC"
I am running Windows XP.
It clicks for pictures and everything else works except when I connect it to the computer.
I think I have covered everything. If you need more, please contact me @:
[email protected]

Thanks so much for any advice!

Can someone show me how to get c cif file to make any camera go on my laptop please

Hi Dear ...

The CIF file extension is associated with the Easy CD Media Creator by Roxio. This disk file is a CD image format that is created by the application, when a physical CD is mounted in the computer. A file with the .cif file extension is generated by the Easy Media Creator when creating projects in the application.

  1. Download the Magic ISO and burn the CIF image file, after burning the CD.
  2. Open this CD in you computer is will show your complete Data or Picture

Custom Background Images

I was using a memorex ultra speed cd-rw and did not work, but i decided to use a regular cd-r digital audio and it worked! Just creat a folder named BG and place up to 20 jpeg pictures in that folder, then place 100MB of files (Not mp3) outside the folder and burn it onto the cd and youre done!

I need cif single chip

I had the same problem too and tried all kinda solution I cud find on the net for ages... The solution is simple...but windows dont give the exact problem description.
Infact...in Device manager, u miss a category called "Imaging device".To get that section back and put ur cam to work download the file "sti_ci.dll" from here.
Extract it, and copy the file to "C:\Windows\System32\" folder and connect back ur cam.Yo get get windows saying device is installed and ready to use. That worked for me. If it worked for u, please post it on other forms to help people who r still trying to look for a solution.
