This is happeneing because the stereo does not have a battery power connections. The yellow wire is for a constant 12 volt connection. This connection is for the stereo's memory.
their should be a blue white wire on the back of the radio. this wire is called the amp turn on wire connecting to this wire will provided 12 volts when the xplod cdx gt520 is turned on but if you press the off button on the radio the 12 volts will drop to 0 volts but when the radio is turned on the 12 volts will come back.
I think you're asking for the switched/ignition wire which would be the red wire on the Sony harness. Also you could try the blue (remote/antenna) wire. The manual can be viewed/downloaded here.
Sony XPLOD CDX-GT200 CD Player Radio: To receive store stations(press); store stations (press & hold). Preset tuning is not possible, however one can store the correct frequency in the memory.
Manual storing: while receiving the station that you want to store, press and hold a number button(1 to 6) until "MEM" appears. The button number appears in the display. PS: If u try to store another station on the same number, the earlier station will be replaced by the new one............................................sodeep
did you buy a factory radio connector to connect the old harness to the new radio wiring if not you can get one at wall mart for 20 dollars and it will be color coded
