Question about Canon PowerShot A530 Digital Camera

3 Answers

Lost pictures I had about 103 photos taken and there was no sign that my card was full or anything. I was taking a photo and then all the photos were gone. All it said was no images. I can not find them anywhere. I know I did not delete the photos. Can I retrive them from anywhere or are they just gone?

I took several pictures that are now no longer visible on the card even though I did not erase them. When I take a new picture, I can view it, but it doesn't show on the SD card, and after turning the camera off and then on, it is gone.

Ok! In your case, you can try to resolve it in three ways:
1). Try to unhide these files.
According to your description, your files may be hidden anyway. Try to show them all up again:
Start => Run => Type in "control folders" and press "OK" =>Click "View" and hook "Show hidden files and folders"=> Press "OK".
2). Scan your camera with antivirus tool
Sometimes, the virus also would hide the files make them invisible for you. So, just try to do antivirus scan on your camera. (You should take care not to delete some needed files in the process.)
3). Restore your files back by using a deleted photo recovery freeware:

This problem also could be caused by the camera or inner memory card problems. So, if you want to save these files, you'd better try to use a photo recovery freeware that always could help retrieve the inaccessible files back for free:

Good luck!

How can I change the date on photos already taken on my camera or take it off ?

Once the date has been stamped on the photo, it's there just as if you'd photographed a sign with the date. You can change or remove it the same way you change or remove anything else in the photo: by using a photo editing program.

Many photos have disappeared from my camera, it's a Canon PowerShot DS800 IS. After you've taken a bunch do they get stored somewhere automatically? I haven't deleted anything, and I can only see about 5...

Yes they should have been stored automatically to the camera's SD memory card. Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, and take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that are available to help you recover your photos. This blog article reviews and outlines several of the better ones.

Unreconized file format and also says interal memory full

Internal memory is full as you have been saving pictures there rather than your card. Have you checked those are not your missing photos?
Get a new sd card for your camera-I keep 3 cards for mine so that I don't need to delete anything for ages. I back up all photos to pc. The photos on your internal memory can be copied onto your new sd card when you insert it. When you are certain they are on the card AND backed up on the pc then you can delete them from the internal memory.Try mrnu>image storage. On your internal memory there will be an option to copy the photos to a card when you have one in your camera. Do check the internal memory-it is full of pictures-they may be the ones you want!

Lost pictures

You can run a check on that memory with Active File recovery to see if the pictures are there or not. If they are there you can get them back.

The free demo o this software allows only file smaller than 64kb to be recovered or you can use the online version which might not have the limitation but it might not see he memory stick not even if the camera is connected to the computer. There's possibility thought that it might see it if you connect it before starting the online version, the demo should see the card if it's connected.
