Passing allign screen test

If I understand correctly your problem, the touch screen of your PDA is not working.

Well, this is a common IPAQ failure. When happens, the only options to repair it are:

1. Soft reset of the PDA. If still does not work, then go to next step.

2. Replace the top digitizer glass.

It requires a very skillful person to do it. If you have not experience with fixing electronic devices, then I do suggest you to send it to repair.

Besides that is necessary to open it, you will require a soldering iron, and desolder the digitizer part and remove it from the LCD screen, which if is not done properly with the right tools, it's easy to damage the LCD screen assembly.

Also, if it's not opened right, is possible to damage permanently the mainboard if is bent or warped.

Also, even though there are a lot of cheap digitizer replacement parts on-line (mainly from China), they have a compatibility issue that prevents to use them in the RX3715 (or RX3115) PDAs.

I have nothing against Chinese manufactured parts, but after buy around 10 digitizers in the last couple of years for different Ipaq PDAs, I found out that only 3 worked fine, so I know what I am talking about.

have you downloaded any viruses? if not try another hard reset is the screen cracked?

Hopefully you can do a warranty repair, I'm pretty sure the main board is damaged since a hard reset should have taken you back to the factory defaults.

Hey :), id be happy to help. You see, I too have a Ipaq except I had Ipaq 4350. Now, I too had the same problem you are having. The reason why you can't pass the align screen step is because somehow you have damaged your screen. And I have come to the conclusion that HP Ipaq's screen is extremely sensitive, ( because I never did anything that bad to my screen for it to be damaged) soo I'd recommend for you to call HP and see if they can repair your problem or give you another one. The dreaded "allign screen problem" strikes again. This is a known bug of these rx ipaqs. You should simply try to see if the ipaq passes this stage if you try to allign the screen a few times. If not, try a firmware update/rom update (from the hp site) If this woun't work then the problem is located on the motherboard,where a small chip called the touchscreen I/O controller has failed. This isn't fixable by replacing the screen, only the whole motherboard. Unfortunately most of the first generation rx 3715 units (first revisions) carried this problem just waiting to happen.

Please ask more details if you need to better understand any of these methods above.

PS. eu administrez forumul ala, dar prefer ca acele informatii sa ne fie accesibile si noua romanilor pana sa ajungem pana pe site-urile de afara.
