I just bought a Verbatim travel drive at Office Max. I used the drive at home on my PC, created some flipcharts and saved them to my travel drive. When I went to open it again, it asked me for a password - I had owned a different brand travel drive before and never had to do that, but I figured it out, and created a password, and was able to open it again and retrieve my data.
I am a teacher, so I then took my Verbatim to my classroom, inserted it into my MacBook laptop, but it will not let me open it. It comes up with some screen I do not recognize, never asking me for my password, only showing some gray boxes with the titles "desktop" and "VSafe100Vista." It won't let me get my info.
It will not work on any mac operating system. For some reason verbatim have configured it to only work on windows. I had the same problem. I just bought a new drive of a diffrent brand and it worked.

Copy the CD Rom files to a large thumb drive. Setup and install the programs from there. If that does not work, contact Verbatim customer support: http://www.verbatim.com/contact-us/
Im not sure what computer you have, but whenever I use an external hard drive on my computer, an icon either shows up on the toolbar, I dont think in your case thats happening or you would have obviously seen it, however if you have a start or home button on your toolbar on your regular desktop location then you can click to open your computer menu e.i. control panel, word, games,...etc.. look for your "computer" file, click to open, then look for "Hard Drives" or "Devices and Storage" also check and see if anywhere in those menus if there is a "Removable Devices and Storage" tab, if you find these menus and verbatim 53018 doesnt show up in any of your menu tabs then try creating a file on your computer and saving it to your hard drive in the "Save" file location, if its connected properly then you should see a message screen that asks you which location would you like to save your file, it should list all possible storage locations and hopefully Verbatim 53018 is listed.
The Store 'n' Go PinStripe USB Drive from Verbatim has a push and pull
sliding feature which protects the USB connection when it is not in use
without the need for a separate cap which is easily lost.
Plug
it into the usb port and go to 'my computer' there you will se the
drive most likely named verbatim, double click to open it.
Then
open a new window and find the file you would like to transfer, simply
click on it and drag and drop it into the usb drives window and wait for
the file transfer to finish.
use the source (pc/Mac) that created the data to remove it. you will need to re-format to get it to work on the machine you are currently trying to use. (personally I always remove all partitions and format to "fat" (remove factory) this will make the drive work on Mac as well as pc)
Hi, This site does not provide product keys, serials etc. We are a professional company and it is against company policy to infringe on copyright laws.
If you want a legal product key buy one from Microsoft.
no solution but same problem. when I bought I erased everything on it and after some time use it protected itself. In my opinion because it has open pinouts one side wet finger may cause protection bur dont know how to unlock
Shut your computer down. Disconnect you external hardrive. Power up your computer again. Power up the Verbatim and then connect to a USB port. You should hear a very quiet 'ping'.
Go to My Computer, and the Verbatim should be showing as one of your drives (probably Drive D). You should be able to open it from there.
Make sure that you have a Desk Top Icon for opening the hardrive, it makes it so much easier. Hope this helps
Almost always, when a USB drive doesn't assign a drive letter in MY Computer the issue is a Mapped network drive using the drive letter the USB drive is attempting to use.
With the drive connected, open DISK MANAGEMENT find the USB Drive, right click it and assign it an available drive letter.
goto Control Panel, administrative tools, Computer Management, Disk Management, If it pops up a new disk install wizard follow the directions in it. If not then find the new disk that has no partition on it, right click on that drive to create a partition, then right click on the drive to format it, if it hasent done so already.
