Any chirping sounds from the TV?

On your remote you will find a setup botton and what i want you to do is hit set up then hit the tv botton and hit channal up and do that untell it turns off your tv are the channal if that works it tv botton again and your remote will work other wise in the back of your remote it well tell you a code number and go on line to philips and they will give your your codes for you.

Chances are you will the small signal board. Donot confuse it with the small signal module. You will be replacing a board the size of a playing card. Part# PH3912725871. Follow the instructions that accompany this part. Mainly you will have to adjust the geomtry.

i would fix it first if they can get right out and fix it.

I, too, acquired a Phillips without a manual and was experiencing a similar problem. My model is PTV 916, but if your TV has a "source select" button, say a prayer and press the button. From that point, I don't know what else I did, but I do get TV programs now.

bad connections or bad regulator

You don't need a code. Just follow the instruction as follows:
1. Tun on TV
2. Press and hold "code search" until light stays on, then release.
3. Press TV botton
4. Press on-off repeatedly until TV turns off
5. Press enter.

That is it. It works for me.

there is most likely a prob. with the keybd. switches all need to be replaced at the same time.
