There are different alarm systems, not same for all kind of cars. You should explain, by the way, what do you mean by "resetting" an alarm. If you mean that you have an activated alarm and you want to deactivate it some can be deactivated by turning the start key. Then, some have a hidden button you may press Finally, some CAN'T be deactivated, only by remote. You only can turn off the sound removing battery cable then deactivate physically the system and to do this you should know alarm installation techniques. To change alarm coding you need and electronic tecnician.
Press and hold the Control Lock key for three seconds
to activate or deactivate the function. The Control Lock
feature prevents the user from changing the temperature
and freeze settings. At the first press of any key, the
key press click tone will be heard and the display will
show "LO", but no other change will take place. Holding
the Control Lock key for three seconds will activate or
deactivate the Control Lock feature. After three seconds,
the accept tone sounds and the Control Lock LED (if so
equipped) is activated. In lockout mode, when any key
is pressed, the invalid key tone will be heard and "LO"
will be displayed for 1 second. When the lockout is
deactivated, the Control Lock LED is turned off and the
display shows "UL"
if this does not work unplug the freezer for 30seconds then plug it in. if all of the above fails replace the control.
Have you tried a new battery in the remote, or do you have a second remote you can test. Either your remote is worn out or the battery is dead. Once you lock the car with your remote it will active the alarm and if you use your key it won't deactive the alarm only your remote will, on some cars putting the key in the ignition will deactive it. If you can deactive your alarm with your remote and can just manualy lock and unlock your doors and that should prevent your alarm from going off until you get a new remote or battery.
