Check your fuse panels both inside, and outside the vehicle, as well as the connections to the cruise control.

Check the bump stops( usually pastic inserts) on the brake pedal. This pushes a button that continues the circuit on the cruise control. ( just like your brake lights) when u push the brake pedal it opens these two switches. One cause the brake lights tp come on,the other interupts the cruise control circuit. I personally replaced said plastic with screw and nut. Good luck.

2003 oldsmobile alero v6 -- cruise control stopped working...The cruise on/of button lights up, the green light cruise indicator comes on in the dash panel, but cruise control does not engage when CST SET...

Try checking the small switch at the top of the brake pedal. There may be two one for brake lights and one for the cruise control. To ascertain what is what, pull one wire off and see if brake lights work. If not, then the other switch controls the cruise control disconnect and engage..I you have a DC test light check to see if power is on on both side of the switch with brake pedal up. If so, depress pedal and check power on the other side there should be none, if there is the switch is defective.

2010 silverado cruise control will not engage

Just to be sure... (since i just did this today). Steering wheel CC would turn on, but didn't actually work and nothing on the dash indicated. I replaced the brake switch like all sites tell us to do first. Ran the truck over 25mph and hit the CC button. Nothing on the dash, darn... but... when i hit the set button CC worked and dash indicator came on. Moral to this story is the dash light does not illuminate until the Set button is engaged! Maybe a duh moment, but i was disappointed there for a minute.

How do you use cruise control?

Should be a operater manual with car, if not, the left side of steering wheel is a small handle. On the end is a button. In the middle is a "resume" switch that is pussed with your thumb. While driving push the end button, the car should engage and power without your foot on the peddle. To go faster push the middle switch with your thumb toward steering wheel and that will increase the speed. When you put on the brake the cruise control should dis-engage. Need to practice with this on a safe road. You may need to go at least 40mph for it to operate. When the cruise is engaged a dash light should come on saying "cruise" - Good luck

Cruise control won't engage

most likely the clock spring is not the problem because when u push the button the dash light cruise comes on.wich means that you do not have an open circuit.with a light tester check to see if you are getting power to the cruise control servo.if you are then replace it.if no power you will need a new cruise control stick on the steering column.
