I would unplug the scart lead and plug it back in. You may well find poor contacts at present, re connecting will "clean" them up and remove the tarnished covering.
Hope that helps.

I have a JVC RM-C60 TV. I'm trying to tune it in to my Virgin Media HD box using a standard SCART lead but having no joy. It's completely failing to find the cable channel (or any other for that matter)....

Tuning of the TV not required when using scart lead, just select external input that the scartis connected to, ie AV1,AV2 (EXT1,EXT2) etc. The problem is possibly to do with the Virgin box, it may be set to HDMI out in which case it will not output anything via the scart lead, you would need to connect via an HDMI lead (small socket on the rear of the unit looks a little like a USB socket). Problem is if your TV is a CRT television its unlikely to have this socket. Your Virgin box can be reset to output via the scart but you would need to contact Virgin for this process.

Tv connected via scart cables through dvd and virgin media box. Picture sometimes goes yellow the flickers then back to clear.Other times it can go red. Plays dvd's okay though. Is this a connection...

Hi there,
This will be a problem with either the Scart leads (9 times out of 10) or the virgin media box. Not a problem with the signal coming from Virgin Media. Try checking the scart leads are not loose, or looped through the wrong way.
Hope this helps

My Samsung TV picture is supplied via a HDMI lead

yes you need to connect audio out from the tv to audio in on the dvd surround. you need the red/white phono to phono leads, simply connect together and select audio (av,au) on the input selection.

When i plug my new tv into the sky box via a scart, the tv picture is distorted and a major buzzing noise is coming from the tv. sky have checked and said the box is fine. when u connect to another tv it...

Have you tried another scart lead? Also tried all of the tv scart sockets? Don't try and cure this by using an expensive upmarket scart lead, you'll just be wasting your money. The cheapest leads work just as well when the function correctly.

You could also try reversing your current lead by swapping the tv end to the Sky box and vice-versa, as there are many leads which cause feedback issues, and also a lot of "cut" leads (designed to prevent feedback looping) which must be fitted the correct way around. A "cut" lead is one where the wire to pin 19 at the tv end and to pin 20 at the video/Sky box end has been cut.

Note that scart leads MUST be fitted with the tv and Sky box switched off to avoid damage. Most people (including professional installers) regularly ignore this precaution though.

If all else fails then take the tv back and exchange it under the Sale of Goods Act; it's certainly not uncommon for new tv's to have faulty scart sockets.

If I've solved your problem then please take a moment to rate my answer. If not, then please report back with the make and model of TV and I'll try a more specific answer.

How do I connect my dvd player with a virgin box do I need 2 scarts in my tv?

Your virgin box should have two scart sockets,if you only have one scart socket on the tv then...Put a scart lead in the one marked tv on the box and plug it into the tv,then from av1 on your dvd take a scart and plug into the other socket on the box.If you cannot get the dvd to play when the box is on then switch the box off.

TV suddenly lost colour - gone black and white Virgin Media.

most likely the problem is due to a "lock up" you need to reset the system, unplug the set, and look in the back panel (I am assuming it is a digital (flat screen tv?) for a small (usuall) red nipple, again making sure the power is unplugged, depress the nipple with a bll point pen for about 5 seconds, wait a few minuets, and plug the set back in, you will most likely need to go to your menu for set up again, but you will be starting with a clean slate (so to sleak) and the tuner should then correctly pass the signal though

Connecting a dvd 250gb hard drive recorder to tv and virgin box

Right then, on the back of the virgin box there are 2 scart outlets, connect one scart from the TV scart port to the scart in on the DVD recorder, then connect one scart lead from the scart out on the DVD recorder to the TV.
Find the DVD recorder source channel on the TV and then use the DVD remote control to find the digital input on the DVD recorder, this is usually AUX channel.

Sony Vega gone red

I'm having the same problem, red picture. Did you find a repair person and if so what was the problem and cost to fix it? My television is only 4 years old so I'd prefer to fix it if it's cost effective.
