Hi, if the Notebook is still under Warranty it is not recommended to remove and solder the Notebook with a Female DC Input socket of the Notebook. Although the DC input socket is available in any near by Electronic repair shop, please repair only if the Notebook Warranty is expired.

Hi power supply whent pop. PC worked on battery for 20 mins. got new power supply but will not charge. Is there any voltage protection inside and how do I get inside My Eeee900

Hello,
It is very important to check the power output produced by the ac adapter. Make sure that the output voltage and ampere of the new power supply is the same with the original power supply provided with the laptop. The new power supply you purchased may be producing lower or higher ampere than the required power to turn on the unit and charge the battery.

I suggest to purchase ASUS Eee recommended power supply or ac adapter for your laptop before it gets damage by incorrect power voltage or ampere used.

Good luck!

The pin broke off in my AC Adapter. Is there

Unforturnatly you cannot just glue back on the pin from your ac adapter.

but you can buy just the "brick" part of the ac adapter and should be less than $80.00 for the complete set.

Hope this helps.

The plug in socket inside the Gateway MC7321U laptop is broke and I need a new one where can I buy one and how to change it out.

in general, most of the ac plug is soldered to the motherboard itself, if the laptop is still within warranty, ask for a mobo replacement.

Internal ac pin broken acer laptop

Is this a desktop or a laptop? If this is a desktop easiest cheapest solution buy new power supply. If this is a laptop you need to purchase a new ac jack adoptor, and take it to an electronics shop or bring / send it to a repair facility and what will happen is an IT Professional (such as myself) will carefully disassemble the laptop and then remover the motherboard entirely placing it in a static case. Then we will transport it to an sub-contractor generally an electronics specialist who will de-solder the jack and remove it placing new solder on the board and then soldering the new jack into place. Once completed the board will be transported back and the laptop will completely be re-assembled and you will be looking at around a $180 - $265 dollar repair bill. Do this quite often as with some expensive laptops this is very cost effective. Visit us on the web @ http://www.davispcrepair.com or contact me personally @ [email protected]

Acer Aspire 7720 shut down, no power light, battery and supply check good. Tried the power reset still no power light with AC supply. unit completely dead. Do I stick a fork in this one?

The laptop's AC power jack is probably damaged. All you have to do is put the fork aside :D, unsolder the old power jack and solder the new one in. If you are not good at soldering you can get it done by a qualified professional. Its a 5 minute Job and a pretty inexpensive repair.

Sai.

Appears to have a bad power supply where to start troubleshoot

I would start with the AC jack. Plug the power cord into the jack and see how much it wiggles. If it does wiggle, try to see if the jack is wiggling inside the computer. HP had a huge problem with the ZD7000 models, the AC jack would break free from the soldering on the motherboard. Solution at that time was new motherboard! Since then you can now find folks to fix the motherboards.

But this also could be the power adapter. Is there a light on the adapter? You could check for power with a multimeter.

No ac power but plugged in

If you plugged in the ac adapter, and you still get no power and cannot turn it on, the first thing to check is the AC adapter. Get a voltage meter, set it to 200 DC, put the positive on the inside and the ground on the outside. Unless you have a highpower alienware laptop, it should read +/- 20 V, most likely 19.xx. If your AC adapter is good, then the DC jack, what the adapter plugs into, is bad. In this case, the laptop will have to be disassembled, the mother boared removed, the old DC jack de-soldered and taken off, and a new DC jack soldered on. You would really need to take it to a qualified techninician at a shop to di it.

Dead Sony Laptop

If power supply is supplying correct voltage, then you do not need power supply PCB.

Try starting the laptop with AC adapter and no battery, if battery is shorting out you may get same problem.

Test the soldering joint on the AC socket and laptop motherboard, if there is a bad soldering on laprop ac adapter socket, you get same symptoms.

If it is none of the above, and the adapter is fine, then it is usually a faulty motherboard.

When ac is plugged in the power light blink & notebook unresponsive

Sounds like your ac adapter (brick) is bad and not supplying correct voltage/amperage.
