This may be difficult if you just leave the color slot open. Some printers recognize that it is empty. Most times you can bypass this by placing the old cartridge back into the unit and it will think it is a new one.
Go to the printer properties and select black and white or grey scale.

Som sorry. PSC1410 uses cartridge HP21 for black and cartridge HP22 for color. PSC 1510 uses HP92 and HP93.

you should leave the color cartridge in the printer though it is empty. it will still work. secondly, when going to print, in the print page setup, click on the tab for blk only. hope this works
